Katherine Jenkins, the newly discovered young Welsh mezzo-soprano has a breathtaking voice that captures the imagination and lifts the spirits. On her Second Nature CD, Katherine sings 'O Sole Mio', a piece mainly found in a male tenor's repertoire. Other songs include, Va Pensiero, Time to Say Goodbye, You'll Never Walk Alone and Barcarolle. I have never heard Barcarolle set to lyrics before and thought it wouldn't work but how wrong can you be? Her interpretation of the Offenbach piece is superb and not to be missed. Check out Katherine's Living a Dream CD too for her unique rendition of Nessun Dorma, Music of the Night and We'll Meet Again. Sure to appeal to all ages!
My Dad did not think this CD was a s good as the latest CD, but I totally disagree. It is Fabulous and beautifully performed. A real treat for opera loving people as well as lovers of classical music and those who can recognise quality in an artist.
With regard to "Second Nature", (as in all the lovely Katherine's albums) I find it extremely difficult to adequately describe her superb, powerful, melodious voice; for those who haven't heard it before, listening to it is an experience not to be missed, and never to be forgotten. I own (and treasure) everything she has ever recorded, and am eagerly looking forward to her next album, due to be released in the autumn. By the way, does "Donald 3032" (review above) seriously claim to be better-looking than Katherine? I don't believe it!Surely he must be a Scots Adonis! Kleepiesneeter.
As expected of such an impressive soprano, this is a beautiful CD. Bought for 'Time To Say Goodbye' I have been thrilled with all the other pieces too.
just cracking nealy as good as I seen her when I was in the army when she came to entertaine us out in the sandy place we the officers of the Royal Engineers hold a place for her in our hearts. The reason for buying it was we thought that we must after she sung to us out in the sandy place and we must suport the forces foundation to entertain us the troops as we are so far away from home.
Never having been a fan of Opera I decided to try this CD as an introduction to it.If you, like me, have never tried listening to this type of music, I highly recommend this CD. Katherine Jenkins has a truly fantastic voice, and this is not as heavy as a lot of opera on the market. It makes lovely background music when you have company, but it is also very relaxing when you are on your own and just want something pleasant to listen to, propably because you are not so tempted to try and sing along with it. I am very pleased that I decided to give a try as it has enabled me to enjoy a type of music I would otherwise have been missing out on.
I have all Katherines cds and they just get better and better. The song "time to say goodbye" would bring a memory to anyone who hears it and would pull at the heart strings of even the strongest amongst us. Although a classical singer Katherine has such an angelic voice that makes for easy listening. I would recomend this album
I absolutely love the strong controled voice that Katherine controls magnificently. A personal favourite is the opening, 'Time to Say Goodbye' which is enough to bring tears to anyone. A fantastic voice, excellent lyrical and accoustic control and an outstanding Ambassador to Wales. A real priceless album written and performed by a stunningly beautiful Princess!
Without a doubt, this is my favourite Katherine Jenkins album!!! I have found all the tracks enjoyable, and think it is a very well rounded album, and one I seem to play more than others. Her rendition of 'Time To Say Goodbye' is beautiful, and she also sings one of my favourite songs, 'O Holy Night', absolutely exquisitely!!! Voice of an angel on this track!!!
I have bid for all four of Katherine Jenkins' releases. I particularly like this one, because of the tracks on it. I enjoy the songs which she sings in her native Welsh. (Strange, isn't it, that the Welsh got the singing voices. - Still, the Scots got the good looks).
I think this was the most expensive of my purchases, but well worth it.
i just fancied a different cd which is great.ihave actually seen katherine jenkins singing on the television before the start of a really import football match and thought that her singing voice was really good so i decided to look on ebay and was very lucky to buy a good clean cd in a perfect condition at a very cheap price .a very good seller made all the difference to me
