Seabiscuit (DVD 2004)

Seabiscuit is a lovely family movie that you can watch over and over again, its heart warming story and favorable characters make it an unmissable film.
Based on the amazing true story of the underdog race horse Seabiscuit, written off for his size and his rider Red Pollard, during the Great Depression, the film follows the two of them overcome injury, let down and ridicule and go on to become an American Legends.

Overall a must see film, especially for anyone who loves horses. This is a story that will stay within the hearts of people and racing history for years.

A good all round family film that all of the family will enjoy,even granny!
If you love horses, them this is a must, A true account of an incredible series of events that will be immortalized in Race Horse folk law.

I bought this as a present for my husband. He had already seen it several times on Sky but he said it was one of the films you can watch again and again and he has...watched it again and again. Me too. Its easy to watch and is a very touching true story, a piece of history really. It is quite a long film but really worth curling up infront of the TV for. I won't go into the story as it may spoil your viewing. I am sure almost anyone would enjoy this film.

loved watching it the first time so now have a girl into ponies so thought it would be nice for her to watch and she loved it

the film is a family dvd very much so if a horse lover from the begining to the very end full of exciement some teir drop moments but above all excellent actors has well.

my son in law had the book of this dvd on our holidays and he read it so quickly and really loved it so i thought that i would get the dvd version for my husband (they both love horses) I didnt think i would like it being its about a race horse but i sat down and so did our young daughter we all loved it is was a real treat and its what i tend to call "a rainy sunday afternoon film" with a box of chocs and with this one a tissue or two !!

I saw this film when first released. Loved it and was very moved by it so bought it as a prize for a racing evening.

This film starts off slowly but as the pace steps up it is truly amazing, and is a fantastic tear jerker and truly inspirational, and if you think they have made it up when he wins his races, just check out the dvd extras, actual black and white original footage thats exactly the same as in the film.

The film ends with the jockey saying ;we didnt fix seabiscuit, he fixed us', and as a 27 year old bloke I still cry every time!

even i you dont like hoses you will love this film, it is a a great film of courage and heart, ot will make you laugh and cry, brilliant

Bought the dvd because I had already read, and enjoyed, the book. Didn't get a chance to see the film when it first came out, but pleased I got the chance to see it on dvd. Nice, easy film to watch,particularly so if you love horses (as I do) or are keen on horseracing.

A great film about the will to survive and continue fighting. If you're ever injured watch this film. I broke my back and numerous other things, and it was a great inspiration. Don't worry if you're not into horses, this really is a great film!

Its the story about a boys passion for horse riding, but knowone would give him a chance because he was too tall. A horse trainer who goes and picks a horse that nobody else wants but it has lots of spirit. And and when the two that knowbody want come together, there journey begins to become Americas best horse race. Then an un eqpected tragedy happens so you think its all over but its not!

I had watched this film three times and recently purchased my own copy from eBay. I have since watched it again.

The film is difficult to get into at the beginning, you have to take it all in and be patient as it begins to come together a quater of the way through the film.

It will suit horsey and non-horsey people, it has it sad momnets and it's funny moments. You don't even have to be a racing fanatic either to enjoy the film.

Everytime I watch it, I see something new that I had missed before. The additional footage at the end is brilliant and you actually have the chance to see the real race and how lifelike the film was to that historic event.

I really enjoyed this film, as it kept you on the edge of your seat, especially towards the end. I though the first half was a bit slow, but you come to appreciate and understand this is nessaccery to bring out the details of the story, which makes this film so good.I am a horse lover so thoroughly enjoyed this film. My husband thought at first it was a bit of a yawn, but was eating his words by the end of the film.
