Scooby Doo - The Movie (DVD 2002)

Our son loves anything relating to Scooby Doo and we already had the 2nd film, but had previously struggled to find the first. We really enjoyed sitting down and watching this film together, there's something in it for everyone as most parents too can remember watching the cartoon when they were growing up!

We bought the DVD because our daughter is a massive fan of the cartoons... she loves this film and so do I! Perfect plot and great ending too, you can watch it again & again... not that I have any choice :)

I bought it because my grandson loves scooby doo. The thing I like most about it is the quality of the item, the picture is excellent. I like it because it is a family movie.

i liked the scooby doo dvd as i bought it for my daughter as she is into scooby doo at the minute. she loves it when scooby comes up at the beginning when you have the options like play movie, deleted scences etc.

i got this film for my kids, i didnt get the cover, but didnt need the cover, as i already had that, but the film was wrecked by the kids once again, they watch a film over and over again when they like a film,

I bought this for my daughter as she loves Scooby Doo.
The box looks fab in the shape of the mystery machine with the gang looking out of the windows,when opened it plays the Scooby Doo theme tune and the lights on the van flash.All 10 DVD's are excellent and I would recomend them to anyone they also make a great gift. I wish they did another series as I would be first to buy.

i bought this dvd as my son is mad about scooby doo and im glad i did hes in bed now 6.30 near enough on the dot every night for bed to watch it its fab im glad i did and its good as i also watched it i enjoyed it

kept my son entertained,, and i enjoyed it to,, good family film , bit scary for under 6 though,family film , buy it.....

My 4 year old had already seen the movie, and liked it so much, that I bought it for his birthday. I myself, was pleasantly surprised by the film. Corny, but likeable, and funny characterization of the original Scooby Doo characters.
Would definately recommend this film if you are a fan of the Scooby Doo cartoons.

This DVD was bought for our 3 year old girl who loves Scooby Doo. Initially it was a bit too scary for her but she knows it all off by heart now. Good special effects and Shaggy and Scooby are really funny. Nice family film. Good extras on the DVD and great music.

BOUGHT THIS IT WAS IN GOOD CONDITION AND GOOD PRICE WELL CHEAPER THAN GOING TO GET IT IN THE SHOPS.MY SON LOVES SCOOBY DOO I DIDNT DISLIKE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS ITEM I WAS PLEASED WITH IT JUST AS IT WAS DESCRIBED IF NOT MORE.

On Spooky Island, something decidedly spooky is happening. Visitors to the new amusement park opened by Mondavarious (Atkinson) are being turned into soulless automatons before being shipped back home. Is it the result of an evil voodoo curse, or does Mondavarious have a secret agenda? Time to call those kids at Mystery Inc.

But there's a problem - the gang has split up. Scooby (voiced by Neil Fanning) and Shaggy (Lillard) are hanging out in the Mystery Machine van frying egg-plant burgers, Daphne (Gellar) has become a martial arts expert, Velma (newcomer Cardellini) is now a scientist, and Fred (Prinze Jr) is a fully-fledged teen idol. Will they be able to rediscover the chemistry that made them the best ghost busters in the country?

Treating the original cartoon with a surprising degree of respect, director Raja Gosnell tries his best to make "Scooby-Doo" as faithful as possible. The costumes are exactly right, Lillard's Shaggy and Cardellini's Velma are uncannily accurate imitations, and there are plenty of ironic references to Shaggy's dubious smoking habits and, of course, Scooby snacks.

The only problem is the CGI. Mixing the computer-generated canine with live-action sequences, the film's effects just don't do the concept justice. That coupled with the overly complex plot and some very silly Spooky Island locations (complete with questionable voodoo "natives" and a bunch of guys who look like they've escaped from a Mexican wrestling movie) don't help make this as much fun as it could have been.

As in the cartoon, the best moments are those that involve Scooby and Shaggy - a fart and burp contest of epic proportions and a scene where the pair have to defend themselves against an attack of flying plastic sausages - are guaranteed to raise a smile. But you can't help thinking that they could have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for those pesky CGI effects.

My 4year old daughter loves scooby doo and this film entertained her all the way through. The only downside to the film is that i have watched it 12 times already and we havent had the film that long so its driving me mad now.....lol

I purchased this movie for my daughter (2 and a half years of age).
I bought it for her because she is Scooby Doo mad. I did look at other Scooby Doo DVD's, but figured this could also be used for the family to sit and watch together. My daughter has watched it several times since I purchased it.

Item bought for my daughters. We watched film as a family and my husband and i enjoyed it just as much as our girls did.

I bought this dvd for my six year old as he loved Scooby Doo 2 so much, plus he loves watching the cartoons. Scooby Doo the movie is great. The characters compare brilliantly with the cartoon, everything from the clothes to the voices are fabulous. Some of the humour went straight over my son's head, it made me laugh but without excluding him. The plot was well written and in the style of the cartoon, fast moving and slightly predictable but with typical Scooby Doo charm. All the things you expect from Scooby Doo including Scooby snacks and endless eating opportunities for Shaggy and Scooby are there. The meddling kids of course get to the bottom of the mystery in the end. This is a great family film and we really enjoyed it and had a few laughs along the way. Buy it, you won't be disappointed. My six-year old cannot wait to rerun it again and again!

we all love scooby doo and i got it for a great price from ebay my two kids have watched constantly since it arrived my youngest loves scooby and the gang all the usual aspects of scooby shaggy even sounds like the real voice even the end line about you pesky kids, a must have for kids that like scooby

scooby doo the movie and scooby doo 2 are both really good films for both kids and adults.
my little boy is mad about scooby doo and prefers the real life characters to the cartoon ones

I bought this dvd because my 6 year old son had watched the video that many times that he wore it out. All the family love to watch it over and over. I didnt think I would like it as I had grown up with the original cartoon Scooby Doo, but was surprised at just how much I did enjoy it. The actors are true to the cartoon and the story line is good for all ages.

A great fun film, if you enjoy the crazy world of Scooby-Doo, and my 4 year old certainly dose. I bought this, unsure if she would like the switch to real charictures and setings, instead of the cartoon world she was used too. At first she was surprised and then a bit confused because the humans are human in a human world, but Scooby-Doo is still a cartoon (well a good qaulity computer generated graphic).
I now have to explain the "Monsters don't exist" thing all over again, as the monster/amimals are very realostic and a little scary for a 4 year old. The film is a PG rating and I did sit with her through out the film, as I always do for the first time.I am glad I did with this film. My daughter and I both enjoyed the film and we would recommend it (mainly to Scooby-Doo fans who can already put up with the anoying voices for 80 mins).However if I'm up in the night beacuse of monster nightmares I may change my opinion!!.

Was looking for for this on dvd as my daughter has watched it so many times on video. Personally i haven't sat and watched all the way through, but what I have seen is funny and entertaining.
