The Killers - Sam's Town (CD 2006)

Amazing follow up to a great first album. I was a little late in discovering The Killers, in fact my 13 year old son was into them before me. I know the band take influence from the electro 80s bands, but i prefer to think the passion sounds more like the late 70s raw Punk feel.Buy this album, its just unreal, and will appeal to many varied music listeners.

I have only discovered The Killers about a year ago and I absolutely love their music. Sam's Town is a brilliant album as is Sawdust (18 tracks!). I find The Killers great driving listening. I have to say my all time favourite so far is Hot Fuss - Mr Brightside goes on top volume - it's mind-bending, head-banging pure brilliance.

But some others mix into one and i can't differentiate. I realy like the Killers but this didn't live up to the might of hot fuss!

I like the killers for their great song writing, lyrics and catchy tunes that get you going. I don't think this album is quite as good as the previous but it is still worth buying.

Having watched most of the summer music festivals with my teenage son, this band played a major part in the line-ups, the more I heard the more I liked
Their music and I have to say this CD does not disappoint and has been in my car's CD player constantly for the last couple of weeks, the more you listen the more it grows on you!!

I would recommend the album to anyone and it certainly wiles away the tedium of being stuck in rush hour traffic!!!

Bought it on a whim as although you hear them on the radio I normally download individual songs and not a complete album. When randomly searching through ebay I always look at the sellers 'other items' to see what is being listed. All the songs are great and you don't realise how many you already know. Great band and great album, ideal for playing in the car.

I really enjoyed listening to this album. It's one of those ones you can put on and listen to every track right through to the end. 5/5

If you like a good sing in the car or house it is for you. I dont recommend dancing to it its hard, but there a good few classics on there. Of course Sam's town the title track gets you into it but my fave has to be "when you were young and read my mind. Its a good buy. I recommend it greatly.

Probably one of the best, if not the best complete album Ive heard in the last 3 years. It is rare to find and album where EVERY song is a great song.
The entire album flows beautifully from start to finish and fits together really well. I thought this album would be hard to follow on from, but they seem to have done it again with Sawdust.

Personally I have a purist approach to my music collection and generally like to be quite open minded to a wide variety of music. My first real introduction to this genre is this album and I haven't tired of it yet. Inspired me to buy their next Album 'Sawdust'.

The Killers were a top band for a long time after their release of Hot Fuss. People couldn't get enough. So as expected, the hype for the next album was tremendous. Sure enough, 2007 came shooting round and people started to feel the urge to listen to The Killers again, what with the constant speculation of Sam's Town and the constant media fuss. Out came Sam's town and there were immediate mixed feelings. For me personally, I was disappointed. I gave up on it and discarded it onto a dusty shelf. It was only until one day someone said to me "Pretend you're not listening to The Killers. Listen to it then". Sure enough i was hooked. It was from that moment that i realised they had created something great. Not as great as Hot Fuss, but pretty damn good.

Worth a purchase. Definately!

This album is fantastic. Every song on it is brilliant. Sams town is a great track to start the album with. I loved The Killers first album Hot Fuss but it took a few listens to really get me into it, where as this album was a hit from the start for me.

The debut album i loved so i thought id give this one ago, well its a strange mixture of songs and a first i wasnt sure but after a few listens the album begins to haunt you, apart from one or two dire tracks i liked it, well worth a listen

I really loved the first Killers album but unfortuntely they have suffered the 'second album' syndrome and totally lost the plot to me. Sam's Town is OK, but not outstanding like their previous release. I heard somewhere that the first album was produced in the UK and maybe that's the difference I can hear. But whatever it is, it's highly disappointing.

I love this album it is n ow one of the best albums i have in my collection.
All the songs are fantastic
