Road House (DVD 2002)

Patrick swayze plays a cooler in this film, and has the coolness of a rottwieller, someone not to be messed with. The way he takes control of the double deuse is the way it should be done. No-one is able to stand in his way of what he going to achieve, total supremacy!!!!!!!!
A film i can watch again and again

Patrick Swayze, Monster Trucks, Bar Brawls, classic 80s one-liners and a soundtrack by the late great Jeff Healey - who wouldn't want to watch?!

With a decent enough story line, impressive enough fight scenes, enough emotional back story to make it more than just another david vs goliath type film (but not too much to make it a heavy, over-indulgent sob-story) this is worth a watch at some point.

It's not the best film in the world, but it is very fun and watchable, whilst being violent and sexy too, oh and not to mention utterly predictable ;)

Personally I bought it due to the fact Jeff Healey is in it; he's an incredible guitarist to both watch and listen to, but having seen it on tv a few years ago I knew that I liked the film as a film and I actually looked specifically for this as opposed to stumbling across it by chance. Friends enjoyed it too.

If you like Next of Kin, Red Dawn, Point Break or any other of the Padmisters movies, well this is definatley for you!

Paddy is a hardass bouncer, with a few martial arts moves to boot! He uses his skills to clean up the tough Double Duce bar and turn it into a happenin' joint.

Best bits in the film -
Paddy kicking large ammounts of ass.
Paddy getting it down with the ladies!
Paddy ripping a mans throat out with his bare hands!
Paddy generally being badass!

Bits that could be improved -
A cameo appearance from the Wolverines ( Red Dawn), would have been a nice touch!
I also think the director could have a squeezed in a sub plot were Paddy Swaze saves the planet from an Asteroid - Armageddonesq!

Apart from that this film is badass and will make you want to leave your boring well paid 9-5 to take up Bouncering and basically fight drunks!

i bidded on roadhouse DVD went to pay for it with pay pal but i was having trouble with pay pal . then i emailed the seller to tell them they would have to wait for payment . and they were very understanding . the seller waited for over a week for payment. top seller will def use again thank you....

great classic film of the past, great action fighting. cant say i dislike this in anyway. patrick swayze is well toned up in this

Chick flick that is definitely worth watching. Swayze at his best yet again and a must for Swayze fans. This movie could well be up in the same league as Dirty Dancing.

In diesen Film hatte ich mal des nächtens reingezappt und bin fasziniert bis zum Schluss daran hängengeblieben. Vielleicht war Ben Gazarra dran schuld, keineswegs jedoch Patrick Swayze. Dem P.S. unterstelle ich einfach mal Talentlosigkeit und Beziehungen - und klar, den Blockbuster "Dirty Dancing". Keinerlei Leistung lässt er auch erkennen im guten Film "11:14" und im sehr guten KultFilm "Donnie Darko".

ABER dieser Film "Road House" bietet eine super Plattform für Swayze: Tiefsinnig bedeutungslos zu glotzen, dumme Sätze zu drechseln und das ganze Repertoire von Tai Chi über Boxen über Kickboxen / Thaiboxen abzuliefern und von fernöstlicher Philosophie zu labern - das ist einfach eine oberaffengeile Mischung, dazu noch mit etwas Humor und Sex gewürzt: KLASSE.

Den guckt man sich tatsächlich 2-3 mal an, nach dem Motto "Gips doch nich".
Mein Empfehlung für sinnbefreite Nächte, Whiskey und Chips, keine Frauen.
Muss auch mal sein.

PS: Leider hat der britische eBayer und DVD-Lieferant sich geweigert, trotz "Überweisung möglich" seine Kontodaten preiszugeben. Egal, die DVD hol ich mir schon noch.

my favourite film of all time. lots of action throughout, great cast and a superb soundtrack. you just gotta watch it.

Not a bad film, a bit cheesey, but what a soundtrack!!! If you can get past the dire 80s fashion sense and the tree-like acting of Ben Gazzara, and the outrageuos tart-like behaviour of the female co-stars, it's just like any Saturday night in Dundee.

Brilliant 'bully gets his come-uppance' film. Superb fight scenes and action scenes. This is now my all time favourite film. Great moments of passion, comeradery and violence all combined. Buy it NOW

I decided to but this film on dvd as i had not seen it in ages. The film itself is patrick swayze at his best. There are some great one liners that make you laugh and cringe at the same time. Its dated now as the fight scenes are looking terible and why a man in his fighting prime couldnt beat up an old man is beyond me. Good times.... I prefer this to his other films of the time as it did make you feel you could be Dalton.

Ordered the film for my partner as he says its an old classic and i had never seen it. tried to get it in all the major shops but could not find it anywhere so glad i could find it on ebay.

I have see the film lots of times on video so i wanted it on dvd.

THIS FILM HOLDS FOND MEMORIES FOR ME AND MY HUSBAND,I WAS PREGNANT WITH OUR FIRST CHILD WHEN WE SAW THIS FILM,SO TO FIND IT ON EBAY WAS JUST WONDERFUL.NOW OUR 3 CHILDREN ENJOY IT AS MUCH AS WE DO.

I have always wanted to see this film and now that i have i think it is an excellent movie and well acted.I would recommend this title to anyone who likes an action film and who also likes Patrick Swayze and Sam Elliot as actors.Very glad i bought it.

A favourite movie of mine have on tape but wanted a copy on DVD. The price was fair and the DVD was in perfect condition.
Have no dislikes about the movie.
It is on the shelf with others i own such as Silver Dream Racer. Dirty Dancing.
not to mention music DVDs. Movies like these are wachable time and time again
These movies are a comfort zone for those times when life is going too fast.

saw it years ago loved it then still love it today one you can watch every now and then when there is nothing on the tele good simple plot famous faces no computer special effects plenty of action

I Noticed the other week that Road house 2 was available, it reminded me of this film, its a classic if you ask me, I used to have it on VHS, never though to get it on DVD until today.

The DVD transfer quality is pretty good, as expected really. its the entire film, no cuts.

The extras arent worth shouting about, but then what can you expect from such an old film.
