The Ricoh Caplio R6 is a fabulous camera, have a another leading brand camera which is superb but wanted a bigger viewing screen, this is excellent for wide screen shots and has a superb 7x zoom, simple to use, just perfect and the final results are stunning. Very good price for such a brilliant camera.
I don't do technical. This is from my viewpoint as an amateur user with particular requirements.
The R6 is a fabulous little camera. It's my second Caplio, and I would recommend them highly.
I bought it specifically for its excellent macro capability, because I sell jewellery and getting good close-up shots of details, hallmarks and flaws is important to me.
But I've taken it and its predecessor on holiday, and it's equally good for landscape and wide-angle shots.
It's very robust and looks great too, with its red body - but be warned - the silver pieces I'm photographing do tend to pick up reflections. If I'd thought it through I might have chosen another colourway.
Very pleased. Easy to understand & work out different settings. Quick to change between different modes. Good quality photos. The only drawback I find of small digital cameras is the slow response time to closing shutter so 'catching the moment' can be tricky.
Due to weight restrictions when flying, I bought this as a back-up for my SLR and all its assorted lenses as it is so small. I did not expect the fantastic results. Particularly using black & white with a tripod. Excellent quality, and intuative controls make this a real gem of a camera. Highly recommended, I now carry it at all times.
My boss bought this camera after extensive technical investigation so I took his recommendation and have been thrilled. I am not a technical wiz but have found the variety of different features on this camera are easy to use and fun ( but do take time to read the easy to download manual). I am particularly impressed with the video and sound quality, black and white feature and face zoom which are only a few of the options available. The camera has several settings which enable you to “point and shoot” so it is ideal for non-technical users but has plenty of different settings for the more advanced user. I bought a 2mb card so can take up to 770 photos , 45mins video. Battery life is very good. The camera is light weight and very compact. Easy software installation. The biggest problem I have had with this camera is fuzzy pictures when the light is fading but I feel this is down to user error and settings. I am still learning. All in all very very pleased.
Great little compact digi camera, the best optical zoom in it's class and decent resolution, over 7 mega pixels. Bought for my daughter who uses a Nikon D200 and D100 but needs a compact to carry always.
this camera is really compact and the battery is very light weight making it great to carry anywhere. battery life is really good have taken 300 shots on one charge. i chose this for it's high zoom and ultra compact size and it has lived up to both.the red colout looks great too. however the anti shake dose not mean all shots are in focus still but you can afford to take several as it has a really short lag time, however the macro is excellent.and as with all lcd screen only cameras it can be difficult to see what you're shooting in bright light. all in all it's a great camera to carry around just so you have it there when somthing crops up especially if you don't have a camera phone.
