RIM BlackBerry 7290 Mobile Phone

These PDA's are the best on the market. Although they are a fairly large phone they have all the functions of a PC and are very easy to use.
The plastic construction is tight and solid, the door to the removable battery fits closely and the lack of touch screen frees the 7290 from that fragile, 'don't scratch my screen!' feel that Pocket PC's have and lends to the units overall 'pocket-ability'.
On the side you'll find a nice standard mini-USB connector for charging, upgrades and desktop sync; There's also a compact charger complete with US, Euro and UK adapters reinforcing the world-phone feel.

Bought this as a back up phone for my BlackBerry. Not as easy or simple to use, but still does the trick.

I have discovered after buying my nearly new Blackberry 7290 that it is fire walled and I cannot disable this feature due to the fact that is was on a corporate server in nearly all cases it is impossible to remove the IT Policies from the handset.
You can make calls and send texts but try to install software or access the net and you are wasting your time
I would suggest that you do a search on second hand blackberry's before buying one
I want to make it clear that in the majority of cases the seller is not to blame I would suggest that you enquire first with the seller and get a "blank" BES policy pushed down to the Phone before purchasing it.

bought it to give it a go before buying a newer one.....its a ronseal phone - it does exactly what it says on the tin!

This was bought really as a 'Boys Toy'. I am absolutely loving getting to grips with everything it does and sometimes I will even read the instructions !.
It feels incredibly sturdy and in fact I am sure it would stand a bus on top of it.
As a PDA it is excellent and has the advantage of internet connection in more places than a Wifi notebook.
At the right price a very useful 'Toy' !!

I bought it for its QWERTY keyboard and bluetooth facility. I don't use if for emails or web access. For what I wanted it does a brilliant job with notes, diary, contacts, synchronising with Outlook oh, and the phone is excellent quality reception too.

The phone is a handy size and works well with all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a business PDA. The only downside is that the ring tone volume is too low for when out and about in the street or the car. The number of missed calls and messages I have had, has meant that I have lost time and business.
