U.N.K.L.E. - Psyence Fiction (CD 1998)

While there is uncertainity as to whether Mo Wax still exists, one cannot argue with the fact that label has released plenty of superb albums that have since become highly collectable. UNKLE's first album is one of those, despite the fact that DJ Shadow (one of it's co-creators) has disowned it. Listening to it, is like witnessing a utopian future from one's seat in a cinema. Even with it's sci-fi elements, it's still an enjoyable listen that still sounds fresh today. Even if you are not one for electronic music, Psyence Fiction is an essential listen for its all-star cast of guest stars from the like of thom yorke to mike d of the beastie boys.
