Moby - Play (CD 1999)

I bought the cd becouse it is very good music for me . I can relaxed and rested when I listen it. There is a lot of different songs and I can think abuut the past and my frieds.

Moby (Play) is without a doubt Moby at his Finest Hour!!! This compilation album is composed beautifully and puts Moby right up there with the best of them. I used to own this album on cassette which I seem to have misplaced, but this score is that good I decided to buy it again, but on CD. Also for any of you 007 Fans out there that like Moby, you will love some of the Bond Remix's he produces, they are literally 'The Best of The Best'.

This is a replacment buy as the other one was so old and scratched.... still sounds fresh and modern 9 years on.....

bought this album when it first came out but during two house moves have lost the first one... sometimes like to listen to old albums and this was a favourite at the time.

A fantastic Cd, very easy listening, a good sunday cd to chill from the week.
Would recomend to any ebayer.

had this cd a couple of years ago but then lost it. the cd has great tracks on it and was a bargain too!.

great music for dancin , chillin out or on the move , superb sample work from moby as ever, you can clearly hear that some of it was recorded at his home and the close and cumfortable but slightly wild state of mind of the artist comes accross very well indeed, no collection is complete without a copy.

Play is not just for people who are into dance, techno or chillout for that matter,Its an album anyone can get into. A lot of people have criticised Moby in the past for selling out by using most of, if not all of his tracks from Play in advertisements,to be honest i don't care because i feel that this album stands on its own merits.Its diverse in its styles of music from rock to cool chillout sounds and atmospheric beats,i like play because its just so well produced and sends me to another world.Put simply if you like music buy it!

excellent cd by moby well worth a listen even if this is not your type of music as I feel this appeals to all. Highly recommended listen.

I chose to buy this to replace my first copy of the album. Again, another great collection of tracks from the one -man band Moby. Featuring the well known track 'Porclain'. As you find with most Moby albums, kicks off the album with some great funky tracks then quite mellow songs towards the end, but all good for whatever mood you're in!

The cd dated since 1998 but its music sounds so contemporary. Excellent music. Very touching sweet and powerful

After releasing several unsuccessful albums, Moby finally had a hit
on his hands with Play. It's pretty formulaic, and he went on to
copy Play's style in his later albums, but considering how long it
took him to work out successful formulas in the first place, you can
hardly blame him. These days it's easy to forget that Play was
popular for a reason: it's very good.

For the most part, Moby used the same technique as Fatboy Slim to
create Play: he sampled some very old songs, then built a modern
sound around the old vocals, wrapping them inside catchy rhythms,
basslines and riffs. Despite the similarity of their main formulas,
however, the two musicians have distinctive styles that complement
each other from a comfortable distance. Compared to Fatboy Slim's
hit album from the previous year, You've Come a Long Way, Baby, Play
is restrained and calm.

As you might hope from a musician with such a varied past, Moby
contributes several different genres of music to Play: Porcelain,
for example, is a sentimental love song filled with a dreamy piano;
Everloving is a beautiful and emotionally rich instrumental piece
built around some acoustic guitar plucking; and Natural Blues is a
hook fuelled pop song. Despite this variety, Moby has managed to
give Play a cohesive feel. Each cut has a clean sound, and most are
either catchy or emotionally charged, if not both.

Play isn't art. It's entertainment. It doesn't offer much in the
way of originality, and none of the songs will make you think. On
the other hand, it uses simple formulas to good effect, and it will
more than likely make you feel a variety of emotions. If you want
to listen to complex music, you'd best look elsewhere, but if you
want to unwind or lift your spirits, this album may just do the
trick. It offers something for pretty much everyone.

This is the most chilled out album. I first heard this in Australia when travelling in an underground internet cafe with bright read walls a pool table and sofas. This is ideal chillin experience, so smooth. I highly recommend this album!

Bought this cd just for 1 song (why does my heart ) but realised i knew other songs aswell great cd would recomend to anyone !!!!!!!!!!!!!

My ex had been looking everywhere for this cd, i decided to to look on e-bay as its where you can find just about anything. i got it. Delivery was quick it was cheap. All the things that i like when i buy something.

Heard track on radio..why does my heart,,feel so bad..new it was moby and got straight onto ebay..and as always, found it on this album.
the whole album is excellent from start to finish shall be taking it on my hols!!.
