Philips SmartTouch-XL HQ9190 Electric Shaver

I bought this shaver because I wanted the best plain and simple and it's gonna get used everyday.
flies through tough areas and it seems like I can shave in half the time of my Braun. The 9190 feels like a champ in my hand, looks good and is quiet as well. It's a piece of cake to clean and I enjoy using it!

I love everything about the shaver itself. It does what its supposed to well with the added benefit of excellent feel, simplicity and looks. The LCD display is pretty, simple and gives you all the info you really need. You get up to 90 minutes shaving time on a one hour charge... perfect when there's no time to fool around looking for plugins. The shaver is easy to clean, you just rinse it under the tap with individual head cleaning by removal recommended once a month. There is a sensitivity adjustment and trimmer as well so you can customize your shave. It has a travel lock and a nice hard case so it stays safe and off in your bags.

The only thing I'm indifferent about is the charging stand. Its a little tricky to get the shaver in the stand but it's no big deal. It has a little clock on the base of the stand which is cool and works independently by battery power. The stand doesn't take up much counter space either and thats a good thing.

Having used an electric shaver for years this one still impressed me.

Fantastic styling, good looks, good features, so quiet in use and even down to the clock in the shaving stand.

First shave was good, so quiet i thought it was running out of power had to keep checking but alas no it was a good close shave in a quicker time than my old noisy one.

This shaver performs absolutely brilliantly as you would hope for the price.

One of the reasons for purchase was the self cleaning facility. However, unless all the hairs have been removed prior to the cleaning process the hairs stick together and clog up the cutters after cleaning which kind of defeats the object!

It is simply a great item - battery stays long, shaver works perfectly smooth, i didn't found any weak point - certainly i will buy more of them for presents etc... ONCE MORE - GREAT SHAVER !!!!

Awesome item , looks fantastic with LED light up display on front , item has lock feature for say if your traveling away and put it in your bag it doesn't turn on and waste battery. Has no problem cutting hair of most lengths , and has a switch on front for sensitive or normal shaving modes , not to mention the side burn trimmer on the other side. This item reatails at like £95+ for a reason , flawless item !!!. If your looking to buy then look no further than the HQ9190.

There is nothing to dislike about this shaver.
When in use it is nearly silent and if you are used to the normal foil shavers the lack of noise comes as a great surprise as I used to wake up the whole house when shaving using my old Remington and Braun foil shavers.
The shave is very close to a wet blade shave and does not aggravate my skin even when set to non sensitive mode.
It is very easy to clean and the changeable shaving heads last about 2 years, they are expensive to buy at about £36 so it works out at about 5p per shave.
It has a travel lock so that it does'nt get switched on when in your case and also an LCD display showing how much shaving time is left and when you finish shaving it tells you how long that shave lasted.
All in all if my shaver packed in tomorrow I would go out and buy this shaver again.

A good shaver not as good as I expected but does the job, previous models using Nivea Cream give closer shave
