Philips DVP5960/37 DVD Player

I have bought throught he Ebay and i have got excellent dvd player which plays everything you want. The only concern about this is it wan't play 2.0 USB connection in USB port. So, i recommend if you are having a hard disk 2.0 usb then it won't work with this dvd.

but you can use usb 1.0 on it.

Excellent value for money, brilliant for playing DIVX films of the internet, also great for subtitles on DIVX foreign films. Havent checked out the upscaling feature yet but reliably informed that picture quality is very good and makes a good alternative until Blu Ray players come down in price. Bought 2 (one for me and one for Mother-in-law who is also very pleased with it. Also is customisable as firmware can be hacked to give different appearance to menus / different size fonts etc. Is also region free via easy to find hack on web. Only real downside is not very responsive RC, stays in standby and no eject from RC.
Highly recommended.

This DVD player is excellent, we brought HDMI leads and used them, the picture is perfect, plays all formats, which is what we wanted, would definately recommend. Easy to use, we just pluged and it played straight away, remote is a bit small, but no complaints

what can i say but these DivX players are great plays all downloads in avi format and Xvid You can put up to 4 or 5 films on 1 dvd

for the price this is a great dvd player. i had it connected via hdmi cable. it producs excellent picture quality. upscaling to 1080i is fanatastic and you can actually see an improvement in picture quality. also connected by usb 250gb hard drive to it (fat32 format only) which is great. a grerat bonus is its divx compaitiblity meaning you dont have to convert to dvd format. jus download divx movies, burn and play. awesome!!!!! overall fantastic product for cheap price. not worth splashing out on a HD or blu ray player as the battle continiues between them.
