THE GRAND CHILDREN LOVE IT AND WANT IT ON ALL THE TIME PLUS IT PLAYS ALL REGIONS DVD'S IT ALSO PLAYS MUCIC CD'S AND PHOTO GREAT ITEM TO HAVE FOR LONG JORNEYS.

I recently bought this {from a fab ebay company who I'd use again}, and it does everything it says on the box ! It's compact, stylish, user friendly, and the Ipod/remote dock is terrific. Some reviewers have complained that Apple have made the 5G I-pod unusable for video on this dvd player, but if you convert the movie into a file and then list it as a movie, you can get around this {you're welcome !!}. The only possible drawback for us is the white exterior, since we intend to use it whilst camping. Apart from that?.....at around £80 for a first class re-con unit, well, just do it !! Once fully charged the battery does give just over 2hrs playback (Volume set to just below half) as claimed.

The display 8.5" is excellent with good viewing angles from the sides and top. It also twists 180 Degrees, so its easy to set it up any way you like.

Sound is also very good through its dolby digital stereo speakers, and I was thrilled to see that I could connect 2 headphones directly into it - No need for a splitter!

The player also includes an SD Card slot. Although not tested yet, I would think that playing back divx movies on an sd card will save more battery power.

As a bonus, if one has an iPod, it can be connected to the player in place of the remote control.

In conclusion, purchasing this product was totally worth it!

It is very light, has several different inputs, swivell screen very useful, can be powered in the car and comes with lead to fit cigar lighter, excellent as we go camping alot!

Can't fault it to be honest, neat little remote control that fits into the player so it wont get lost. Sound quality and volume is more than adequate!

Strongly reccomend buying this, you won't be dissapointed - the best I have had from e-bay!

I really like this portable DVD, it's compact, easy to use, the sound is good, the screen quality and size is good + you can use an IPOD with it!

Only down side is that the white top scratches really easily so it's a good idea to get a case to protect it.

This is a fantastic product. Excellent screen size. Fantastic quality. Great price. Amazing that you can dock your Ipod and watch movies and tv programmes on a bigger screen. I love it!.

Love it because this product is complete....I don't need buy other devices because i can see the pictures,movies,mp3 and divx too so definitely is a complete device!

it womt play ipod video after 4th gen, its apple who have done it but phillips should say this in the advertm but otherwise, great machine

Having already purchased a portable dvd player for my partner for use on long journeys I was a little worried by the price of this one - however I was very pleasantly surprised. It is light yet has a strong good looking case. The sound is great and it is extremely easy to operate. The only downside (if it is one) is that the battery is integral so you cannot have a spare battery for long time operation away from a charger. However it does come with an in car charger which more than makes up for it to me.

I would certainly highly recommend this to anyone looking for a versatile dvd player - the ability to use it with an MP3 player is an absolute bonus - and twin ear sockets make it the perfect sharing experience.
I would definitely put one of these on your wish list!

Nice, small (about the size of a hard-back book) and portable. Build quality reasonable but not exceptional (especially hte remote and ipod eject switches which feel 'fragile'. Sounds OK but not as good/loud as hoped but picture quality is excellent.

Unit was shipped with region code 2 (UK) but instructions (which were very easy to follow) were included to change region code (including Region 0 (should play anything)).

Was disappointed to find that unit will not work with iPod Classic (it states 'compatible' with iPod video 30/60/80Gb but this does not apparently include the iPod Classic (which is what I have)). Does still channel the audio through the speakers. Just not video!

Car charger definitely useful and remote seems to cover pretty much everything you'd need.

great bit of kit, very handy as I have just broken my shoulder. My only complaint
is that it does not go to where you last viewed. Sound and picture quality superb,
a good buy.

We decided to buy this as we were taking our family on holiday and wanted some inbuilt entertainment in case the confines of a small desert island would be a little quiet for them. This is a very versatile machine as it can be charged in more than 1 way (12v or mains) and has several ways of being used, First as a docking station for the Ipod both for music and I movies, then as a cd player for music in the room, then as a movie DVD player (of which we are taking an ample supply, and then as a multi media display for looking at digital images editing etc. In fact it really is the ideal bit of kit to take on holiday.

I decided to buy the Philips DVD player initially as a monitor screen for my reversing camera on my Hymer motorhome. It works brilliantly although a tad dark but very watchable.

The next great advantage that I found is that besides the AV in there is also an AV out which will enable me to put a DVD on and transfer it to my flat screen tv in the 'van. My other DVD player was ideal but was mains only so I now have the advantage of a 8.5 screen monitor for my reversing camera and 12v DVD player enabling me to watch it either directly from the player or onto my main portable tv.

Simply superb.

i purchased this dvd player because i needed one for my spare time at work, i work in the offshore industry,tis product is meets all my needs .its is compact and very good quality. 10 outa 10.

This is just a quick review to say that the above player is even better than mine and mine its the dogs and its a DCP750!!!!

all i can say is that i shopped around so much to make up my mind, and i found this was the best quality screen, i love it.

I bought this for my children for a trip we had planned to Spain,you know to keep the flight tedium to a minimum,I love the fact we are able to use it with the ipod video which incedenty we purchased second hand from eBay and got a bargain.Well needless to say it has now joined my Gadget collection and the kids can only borrow it on special occassions.My son is only three and knows how to operate almost all the functions and we all love the swivel screen.

I bought it for me daughter, she is 11 months. She watchs her Baby Einstein DVD's.....she loves it! And also i am planning to take it on the plane to go to Argentina! It's very easy to use and also you can attach your IPOD and hear some music! Great item, i do recommend it!

DVD Player with DVix possibility, 2 headphones plugs, SD card socket, quiet big screen, all this - very useful for pair in travel, only one dark side of this equipment is pictures from camera resolution. Don't think that your pictures made with good resolution will be very clear to watch on this player. And I noticed similar situation- with subtitles on the dvd movies- also not very clear. Check how does it look in the shop ( HMV for example ) before you will decide to buy it.

Pros - very flexible input options - DivX a real bonus as movies can be copied to a 2GB SD card & battery should then last longer than with a DVD. Handy for viewing photos on the go.
Cons - other players may have better screen sharpness AND it's NOT compatible with the new iPod Classic (only audio works). Not Philips fault as newer ipods apparently require connection to an Apple AV dock or lead before they'll play video.
