Pentax Optio A10 Digital Camera

i love the camera it is small but does a lot..so easy to use very high quality
pictures and video..user friendly well worth the price.. love using it best bought camera for a long time..

This camera is great. It's really compact, simple to use and best of all has a shake reduction function that works excellently. I've read other reviews about this camera that say things like the battery life is low, the picture quality isn't all that good but I have to say, after using it for just over a month now, I'm totally impressed. If you want a camera that is cheap, takes pin sharp pictures under pretty much any circumstances and is easy to use then you won't go far wrong with this Pentax.

The pentax optio A10 is a point ant print camera, thats what i was looking for I don't want to get tied up with features or functions I won't or can't use and this just suits me fine, easy to use with no frills

My existing digital camera was five years old and only 2.1 megapixel so I decided to purchase a new, more up todate camera. If I buy tech items I always price them first on Ebay. I know that Pentax make the best cameras in the world which are a little beyond my price range but they also make good value small cameras. On checking Ebay I found that the Pentax Optio A10 Digital Camera with 8 megapixels was being offered at £109 which is excellent value. It was on offer because the new A20 10 megapixel camera is now the current model, but being at the cutting edge has never troubled me.
The camera is everything I wanted and more!! I have now had it about 6 weeks and it has been used as the main camera at 2 major family functions and everyone was very impressed with it and its features and all the guests wanted to try it. They were very impressed.
When I purchased the camera I wanted a leather case for it. At Jessops a Pentax accessory leather case was £39.99p!! I sourced a good quality leather case marked Pentax from a dealer in Hong Kong via Ebay for 99p!!! and two pounds post and packing and it was delivered in a couple of days, again absolutely excellent, good quality goods, unbelievable price, excellent packing and is on the camera now giving it almost total protection.
They say "my Marks and Spencers" I would say "my Ebay" Always top quality goods at rock bottom prices, why go to the shops and be disappointed. My camera case is a perfect example £39 saved on one item, and I had already saved about £50 on the camera. That leaves you with a good "warm" feeling in our "rip off" society.

it is compact, small enough to put into your bag, it is non obtrusive.
I bought it because on amazon.com it had great reviews. I also had a pentax ashia 35 mm for years, so when I wanted a digital camera, Pentax was the natural choice. I also bought a 2gb sd memory card for this camera on ebay. It is a great camera. Easy to use, lots of features at hand, good results in all light settings, 8mp gives a clear and detailed picture. The LCD viewer is large and clear which helps when taking and playing back the picture. It has an anti shake mechanism which I like. It is easy to use, to load up the pictures to the computer or with picbridge on the printer. Charging the battery is quick also.

The quality of the pictures is superb all you would expect from a pentax lens.

If it has one little hiccup, it would be the automatic focusing at very close up say at about two feet or less, whereby It is slightly out of focus. To rectify this the picture can be taken at about say three feet and the zoom button on the computer software provided with the camera can be used to achieve sharpness, or with any computer photo software. All in all it is a very neat package with all the features of a top digital camera. It is the only camera you would want.








problem with autofocus at near distance.

This camera has never given me any trouble it's very easy to use I tried it and like it when I compare it with my Olympus MJU700. Olympus is quite expensive and very known but on my side it wasn't good and I sold it to buy Prentax which's giving me very nice picture without any trouble.
I like it anyone should try it but not olympus which's expensive for nothing.

A great camera, excelent clarity due to the high pixel rating, very user friendly,and compact. I had a previous Pentax Optio and have been very pleased with it. I would highly recomend this camera it is full of features with on screen icons to enable you to switch between the different exposure/light settings.

I bought the camera to replace my Pentax Optio 3.4 which had served me well. The first thing you notice about the A10 is it's compact size and solid feel. Together with the large 2.5 inch LCD monitor which replaces the conventional viewfinder. The camera offers 8megapixels which produces fantastic picture detail together with a 12x zoom magnification. My best picture todate is a shot of my culdesac and drive after a heavy snowfall one morning taken through the double glased window. A useful feature is the shake reduction system that compensates for blur caused by camera shake particularly useful when taking a still image in a dark place. The camera comes with a rechargable lithium-ion battery and battery charging stand and offers around 150 photos between charges. Overall a great point and shoot camera.

I bought this camera as a replacement for my old malfunctioning camera. One of the best choices i ever made!! This camera is easy to use easy to navagate around menu. A cracking 2.5" LCD screen. Quick to start up,Quick to focus,fill of add extras you would not expect from a camera in my price region.
Only grumble i have is it takes a bit of getting used to how to actually take a photo. But once you work it out. a cracking camera for every day use, and semi professional. Great value for money, Easy to use. I total reccomend the Pentax Optio A10

Excellent price: the right choice for this money.
A lot of functions and very good resolution.
Very slow autofocus and low battery life.

Excellent camera, very versatile really good colours and focusing handy size
to carry around with you, and the menu system is the best ive ever seen

It needs the firmware updating to get fast focusing and its dead easy to do
just goto the Pentax site and its on there with instructions

Also I would buy an extra battery as its not the greatest if using the video
mode which is very good too with sound

Much better than my last camera Fuji and overall very pleased with my purchase
