Panasonic NV-GS10 Mini DV Camcorder

Having recently become a grandparent for the first time I thought I would treat myself to a mini camcorder to capture all those special moments from now on which we can all look back on in years to come. I didn't want anything too technical and complicated or too expensive and the camera I purchased was perfect for my requirements. Allthough it may seem a little old fashioned now to some techno-wizards and still uses a cassette to record, I happen to like that feature about it. It may not be up to the minute or cutting edge but it is far from obsolete. It still looks modern, neat and compact, is small enough to perch just nicely in the palm of my hand, where it feels comfortable and well balanced and all the buttons are just a finger stretch away. It has all the features one would expect to produce good pictures and the picture quality is excellent. It isn't rocket science figuring out how to transfer the pictures from the cassette to either laptop or TV, even when the seller I used failed to provide me with the instruction book for it. It is a great little piece of equipment and a pleasure to use. So I am looking forward to grandchild number two now.

Having owned a NS-G10 for some time I think this is a fantastic camcorder. I initially bought the NV-GS10 for just some family videos, however I have been really surprised at the quality of sound and especially picture.

I few of my friends own other brand Mini-DV camcorders but the footage from the Panasonic NV-GS10 just looks so much more alive and vibrant.

The camera has never let me down and the Panasonic build quality is also excellent. I have used this camera 3 times to film weddings and can put my faith in the reliability of the unit. It is a great all round performer which is both lightweight and extremly small, great for holidays. My only compliant would be the placement of the connectors for iLink (Firewire) they are not that easy to get to, but for such a small camcorder placing connectors is never going to be in a convient location.
