Fantastic camera, really pleased with every aspect of it, excellent design. Got good reviews in the Daily Mail which is why I bought it. Has everything you would want from a lightweight digital camera. Takes great pictures, good macro fascility, I bought this so I can carry it around with me on walks etc.Wouldn't be without it now !

The camera is an ultra compact digital unit which takes very good quite high resolution pictures, I like the ease of operation and the fact that it came with a 2 gig memory card. I bought it because it was ideal for my wife to use and would fit easily into her handbag.

  Ebay Purchase
Review created: 07/08/08
by:

1. I choose the Panasonic camera because of compatibility with my PC. Features are almost common comapare to other brands
2. I looked at ebay because to compare the prices in Czech vs ebay ones
3. Price level on ebay was convenient, so I did
4. Delivery was longer then expectation (the only negative point)
5. The problem with UK /JPN socket is easily to solve, in Czech you can by adapter

total rating: excelent purchase - thank you ebay

Mikolaj, Czech Rep.

I did a lot of research and looked at reviews from other sources and chose this particular camera, I wish I had bought earlier, it is so easy to use and the ease to switch to different settings if fantastic, after using the camera just taking any shot by changing the settings and still take the same shot it teaches you the best way to use it. the pictures this camera take are fantastic. and would recommend any of the Lumix Range. Small and compact. Very quiet and very easy to use.The photographs have been excellent.I haven't found anything yet that I dislike about it. Initially, I was considering a Casio or Olympus ultra slim camera but after talking to friends and reading reviews the ultra slim type tend to give poor quality pictures.
So after a bit more digging i found the FX30 with the quality LEICA lens.
I paid £91 with a 2GB card from the states through ebay. So all in all i got a quality camera that is far better and cheaper than other cameras in it's class.
So i'v your looking for a quality compact camera and have under £100 to spent you won't go far wrong with this little beauty.

  lumix fx30
Review created: 23/07/08

I have just bought a FX35,which is very similar to the FX30,with 10MP.
It is beautifully made, and can produce good, sharp photographs, and is so portable.
Just the job to slip in your pocket, when the thought of the weight on my shoulder of my my Nikon D40 kit puts me off taking it out with me.
At first I thought such a small camera can't be all that good.Wrong!!!
It IS good, and good 10x8 prints are easily produced if required.
All the main functions can be fully customised to suit your requirements, and it powers up almost instantly.
Someone mentioned a smear on the lens, which is caused if the automatic lens covere is touched while closed, causing it to press on the front of the lens, leaving an oily smear.
I know,as I have done it!
It does polish out however, with a clean lens cloth, but be warned!

An excellent little camera that can be used by anyone who can point and press.
Has a 'simple' mode that produces excellent pictures as well as a full array of features for the more demanding photographer.
Can bring out the David Bailey in anyone.

This is a full spec. minute camera with very clear instructions.
This fitted my wife's desires for a present for her birthday, and she was very pleased with it, especially as the dealer's package included memory, pouch, etc.

Panasonic LUMIX FX30: World’s Slimmest Digital Camera
Review created: 15/06/08

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX30, the slimmest digital camera has all the ingredients of a handy digital camera. It has got some fantastic features in the compact design that make it a top digital camera.
The camera is very easy to use relative to other cameras, the color quality is also magnificant and it also supports the image stabilization. The only problem is its slight noisy image which is still very common in the cameras of this price range.

I will definitely recommend this digital camera to my friends.

  FX30 all ok
Review created: 10/06/08

Bought this beautiful little camera during June 08 on E-bay for less than £90. A gift!. The ease of use and the size make it ideal. However what really produced fantastic pics, was the purchase of a mini tripod in the local pound shop. That combined with the self timer, returned photos that I am very proud off.The tripod screws into the bottom of the camera in the threaded hole provided. Try it. Well done Panasonic

Really great little camera. You don`t have to be David Bailey to get good results!!! Wanted a camera that you can just slip in your pocket when you go out and this is just the job.The standard of the pictures is just amazing, you are able to zoom in on all the detail, and this is so easy to use as well.I bought this after the great reviews I had read, when it arrived I showed a friend and they also bought one!!!!

Small and compact. Very quiet and very easy to use. Have only used it sparingly at the moment and the photographs have been excellent, now I am looking forward to using it at my Son's wedding next month. I haven't found anything yet that I dislike about it. Initially, I was considering a Cannon and I read reviews on another web site and they were not very good, I then read 1 Panasonic review, which had a glowing report, this convinced me to pay that little bit more and I am more than pleased. The menu system is very easy to use, I'm very glad I bought it

  Excellent Camera from under-rated manufacturer
Review created: 08/02/08
by:

This is an excellent choice if you require a well built, beautifully engineered, very compact, pocketable digital camera. At only 22mm deep at it's widest, it is perfectly at home in your shirt/blouse pocket. Excellent lens quality, very good image stabilisation, positive feel to all buttons and switches, and intuitive menu. Highly recommended.

Bought this for my son, having a a previous model (FX01) myself. The 28mm lens means you can get a lot more in to the picture.

He is very pleased with all aspects.

My 2nd Panasonic Lumix this time for my daughter FAB!

Very easy camera to use with great results. I bought one for myself in April 06,the FX01, when my daughter needed a camera I knew which to buy. The FX30 has some usefull updates mainly in the menus and mode selection. One of the great features is the wide angle (28mm equiv) Leica lens. It also has a useful 3 x zoom. Camera is very quick to start up and takes a picture as soon as it is powered up if you want it to. Large clear screen, robust metal case. Battery life is excellent from the lithium ion battery supplied and quick to charge up also.

This is a great little camera
It was purchased because it was the lightest Lumix we could find real important if you have to carry it for a long time
It has a better wide angel than most cameras which is good for buildings and views
Fantastic large viewing screen making viewing pictures easy with good quality screen
Takes a bit of getting used to with all the dials but gives good results

  Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX30 Digital Camera
Review created: 08/12/07
by:

I chose the panasonic because it has a 2.8mm wide angle lens which is great for close snap shots eg at parties and also for landscape shots. The lens has 4 x optical zoom and is made by leica which is a famous expensive camera manufacturer which is another reason for buying this camera. It has a big screen on the back bigger than the p200 but the camera overall is smaller. The only aspect about this camera that i don't like is that you have to remove the battery to charge it unlike the p220 where you just plugged the camera in and charged it up.
To sum up then it is a great camera good features and a great price.

Very nice small camera with it's major feature the very wide angle lens for such a small body. Some initial pictures were slightly out of focus from a tiny smear on the lens, so it's worth making sure the lens is kept spotless.
