Frank Zappa - Overnite Sensation (CD 1999)

This CD contains tracks that see Zappa at his most accessible,jaunty tunes,humour filled lyrics.Musically excellent as always,with a fine array of top musicians making up the Mothers of Invention.Highlight tracks are Camarillo Brillo and Montana,which are to my mind among the best example of an artist who,I feel,will be among the few to be remembered in decades to come.If you like this and have yet to listen to Hot Rats or Billy the Mountain,then what treats are yet to be yours.Martin Eden

This is a fine example of Zappa's work in my opinion. Nothing toooo out there. Camarillo Brillo is a top opening track following nicely into I'm the slime with a top opening guitar following by a class 70's style funk sound and anti-establishment lyrics. It ticks all the right zappa boxes for me and is not too strange like 200 motels for example.

Dinah Moe Humm is probably my favourite track on the album not something you would like to play to kids but it is a hilarious track. 'I whipped off her bloomers and stiffened my thumb and applied rotation to her sugar plum"

One complaint I have with this album is that it is a bit short only 7 tracks long leaves you wanting more!
