Crash and Burn, Baby!!!!!!!!!

At his wierdest and wildest Neil toured this album supported by the Eagles in England, when I was late teens, about 34 years ago.An acoustic set followed by the usual trip "down by the river" in a "hurricane". What a ride! His music & lyrics say more about today's world than even they did back then, Vampire Blues,Ambuance Blues, et al.He presaged the haunting melodies that magnificent artists like Johnny Cash later gave us in spades. This is one of my all time "tingle" factor albums, which are always on in the car.The kids all know the words learnt by rote as they slept in their booster seats on journies home late at night.Others include Mirrorball, Live Rust and Tonight's the Night. I'm a sucker for loud reverb, and the sustain he get's out of "old black" his custom developed guitar, effects pedals and amps. See and hear me on the A259 between Brighton and Worthing and catch those reverbed electric and acoustic wails as he charts the export of crap capitalistic values and beliefs all over the world. I always coveted that linen jacket. This album perfectly connects Neil's acoustic and electric abilities, which I don't believe he has ever surpassed. Other reviews refer to his state of mind as depressing, but I've always seen that as subjective, and prefer to see him as a realistic cynic. See/hear Living with War, Freedom, Greendale, Tonight's the Night and This Note's for You.It's all one song! I really miss the harmonies from his days with CS&N. They held his voice and trebled the effect of his songs.
