until I saw a 2 part biograhy on Quincy Jones who produced the album, and it reminded me that my old vinyl copy had departed many years ago. I think this is probably Michaels best album, it fully showcases his talent, innovative, energetic, classy, but with a mix of professionalism that belied his years, and a naivetie that would never return. Even now, and I'm 53 years of age, when I hear 'She's out of my life' i'm nearly moved to tears, and I'm not really a huge Jackson fan. If you've never heard this album, where have you been...get it, and if like me it's one of those albums that got away..buy it again NOW!
I spent most of the 80's listening to Michael and the Jackson 5. With all the hype of the thriller album made me get back into Michael Jackson again and I got to thinking that my children should be aware of the genius that he was. I bought Off The Wall as it is just that - pure genius! The best album I own, I put it on in the car and just can't help jigging about. FANTASTIC!!!
I love everything about this Album, reminds me of my dads snotty green cortina, when I was a kid. This has got to be one of his best Albums he produced, before he turned strange
There has been so much media coverage recently about the anniversary of the Michael Jackson Thriller album, which prompted me to buy some of his stuff. The Off the Wall album was Michael's first solo album and what a debut! Produced by genius Quincy Jones and with input from Rod Temperton, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and Patti Austin, this album was destined for success! Each and every one of the tracks is fantastic from the floor stomping 'Don't Stop Till you Get Enough' to the emotional ballad of 'She's out of my Life'. What a journey to work I had this morning....so many memories contained in one disc....as a young teenager in the club scene during the late 70's/early 80's...to the pain of unrequited love!!
If you haven't already got this album, buy it!! It represents the freshness, versatility and talent of Michael Jackson at his very best..
probably jacksons best album ( my view ) and before he went strange, thats his appearance and not his singing abbility, anyway it was one of the first albums i bought ie- in vinyl, no viynl player anymore so thats why i bought the cd !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
