Radiohead - OK Computer The best album ever?
Review created: 29/01/06(updated 29/01/06)

OK Computer, the aptly titled 3rd album from the 90s most ground breaking british band Radiohead. Released almost a decade ago in 1997, the time when we were seeing a masive change in the way technology affects our lives. When I first saw the album cover with the words 'OK computer' it alomost made me feel like the world was saying it. 'OK computer, you win, take us and do with us what you will' For me this ablum signified the dawning of a new age for us all. It was like Radiohead had come of age, their first and second album establishing them for what they are, OK computer was a way of saying 'Now we have your attention, listen to this' Almost every track on the album has it's own unique flavour. There are no album fillers here, it feels like every song is there for a reason. You can hear a real confidence within this album, almost like the band were past caring what we all might think of it. The musicianship, production and songwriting was up to a level not often reached. It's not often you get another pink floyd come on to the music scene. It seemed there were many guitar based bands rising up through the charts in the 90s but none of them seemed to capture the timeless genuis of Radiohead. There are no comprimises on this album. It's pure music! Some might say an aquired taste, in fact in 1997 when released I personally did not like the band or the album. I look back on myself and think of this time as a sort of deafness within me, to be ignoring such an album at such an important time in our lives! OK Computer is now my number 1 album, my desert island disc. Voted the best album in the world ever made by the readers of Q Magazine. If you dont have this album - Get it. It's an essential ingredient in any CD collection. In Fact get 2 copies, you might wear one out!

Worth it just for Paranoid Android
Review created: 12/01/07
4 of 8 people found this review helpful.

This album is the musical equivelant of the 3 lord of the rings films (extended versions) packed into one CD, the icing on the cake is Paranoid Android, an album and song that will be considered right up there with the classic albums. This album is a necessity if you want your CD collection to have some respectability about it.
If you find this review helpful then please rate my review. thanks.

this has been written, as Radiohead expect it to be listened too, as a hole, instead of a collection of individual singles bundled together, it feels so much bigger, for it, too. The way that EXIT MUSIC(FOR A FILM)(track 4) kicks you in the balls, then LET DOWN (track 5) brings you soring back up again is brilliant to me. If only they where less popular i could have a chance to see them live.

I already have this CD in my collection but upon listening to it again, I was compelled to buy it for a friend who I don't think has heard it!

This album is nothing short of brilliant, an absolute modern masterpiece which has only gained in stature after 10 years!

If you consider yourself a fan of music from 70's, 80's, 90's or 00's this truly is a must have!!!

Ok Computer: one of the best 90s albums
Review created: 17/03/08

"Ok Computer" is one of the most interesting 90s albums. Its psychedelic makes each song extremely beautiful; the Radiohead, recording this album, show their incredible talent. "Subterrean Homesick Alien" and "Airbag" are simply unforgettable.

  iPod's for £5
Review created: 19/02/08

morro19 ( 0 )

Are you looking to find an iPod Touch, nano or a console for £5?? then visit:

http://apple.real-incentives.com/36829 (copy and paste URL into browser)

All you have to follow to get your £5 gift are 3 easy steps:

1. Sign up to the site above. (fill in your details eg. name, country).

2. Complete an offer - The best offer to do is Coral, all you have to do is bet £5 on a sport and that’s it! Why not bet on something that’s bound to happen, and it wont even cost you a penny.
Or if you prefer there is the longer method. LOVE Film’s 14 day free trial, this is totally free. If you don’t like their service then just cancel your subscription. Your offer will STILL show as complete, just be sure to put 10 titles in your library then rent one DVD and send it back first.

3. Refer family and/or friends - just get friends and family to complete an offer like you have.

That’s all! Its as easy as that! You'll have an iPod worth up to £200 for only £5, or possibly free! So give it a try, you’ve got nothing to lose.

The Free iPhone Guide

To get yourself a free iPhone all you have to do is follow the 3 easy steps:

Step 1 : Sign up for a free iPhone
Sign up at the link below to get your free iPhone. We recommend this free iPhone site because it's been TRIED and TESTED to work.

http://gifts.kudosnetwork.co.uk/?ref=172 (copy and paste into browser)

You can choose other prizes like free consoles from this site too! Make sure you use a real email address. Use your real details when you sign up so that the company knows where to send your iPhone! Remember that they have been proven legitimate, so will send you your free iPhone if you do everything legitimately!

Step 2 : Try an advertiser's offer
Basically all you need to do in this step is complete one of the offers, this is where the freebie site make their money, if you complete an offer then the freebie site will recieve commission for it. So if you complete Coral which will only cost you £5 to complete, the freebie site gets £25 from Coral. The two best offers are Lovefilm Free DVD rental (rent two DVD's, keep them for about 2 days, send them back and then cancel the trial) and Coral (bet £5 on a sport). I would reccommend you do Coral as it credits in an hour and is really simple to do, Lovefilm however can become complicated and takes up to 2 weeks to credit! You can also try one of the other offers, most are gambling offers. Don't skip this step! You must complete this step to get your free iPhone!

Step 3 : Refer some friends
This part is a lot easier than it seems, especially now with free iPhone sites getting so popular. There's lots of people online who want a free iPhone too, so start referring them! You only need to get a few signups before you'll be finished. You can ask your friends or your online buddies. I already got a free PS3, Wii, and XBOX Elite without even having to ask my friends for help - there's lots of people online who want a free iPhone like you! One of the easiest ways to get a referral is to do a favour for a friend and ask them to sign up in return. That way, you both can get a free iPhone!

Basic rules
Don't break these rules! This is the only reason that you won't get your free iPhone, so make sure you follow these rules!

- One account per household - don't use a public computer to sign up!
- Use real information - this is a proven legitimate site and they will not give out your information.
- Only complete each offer once! You cannot complete the same offer again, even for different freebies.
- Don't try to cheat the system. This site has been proven legitimate, and they will catch you if you try to cheat. If you do everything legitimately, by following this guide, you will get a free iPhone!

Thats all, just follow my guide and you will have your free iPhone in no time.

Thank you.

i have always been a radiohead fan, but this album is by far the greatest. to say it is among the classic greats such as hendrix`s electric ladyland. beatles white album or led zepplin 4 is by no means an exaggeration.the whimpering vocals of thom yorke are complemented by the haunting overlay of guitar sounds. there are many things going on in this album which get noticed with each and every listen. if you dont yet have this album in your collection, and enjoy origional and eclectic music, buy it-you are yet to be inspired!

Without doubt one of the greatest albums ever. As good as, or if not better than The Bends, no CD collection is complete without it. A true masterpiece, every song you can listen to all the way through without wanting to skip on to the next track. A Joy.

  Not depressing enough
Review created: 16/01/08

Definitely overhyped, although I suppose it is OK really especially Exit Music (nice and depressing), Lucky and Paranoid Android obviously. No Surprises is rubbish though it's so simplistic, electioneering is a bit annoying too sounds too much like indie. Still it's radiohead though but if you're a new fan you should get The Bends

  Radioheed- Okay Computer
Review created: 15/11/07

I bought this album twice over a year. I bought it based on all the hype I heard surrounding the band formally known as Radiohead. I had to listen to it some 15 times before I could say some of the tracks are okay. Not satisfied I returned it to HMV (£14.99 at the time). Convinced that I was missing something, I bought the album again 5 months later (this tme from Music Dog at £12). After another 12 listens, the only tracks I could say I like (somewhat) were Let Down and Subterranian Homesick Alien. Obviously Radiohead must have done something right to get where they are today, but the album is nowhere near as great as it's made out to be. This sort of music will do nothing for you if your already feeling down.

Definitely one of the greatest albums of all time.
Review created: 14/11/07

If you know someone who isn't familiar with Radiohead, give them this album. And watch them grow into a huge fan. It's simply amazing, like all of their albums to date it's completely atmospheric, too deep for human comprehension at times, and moving in all the right places. Arguabley their best work, but nevertheless, a fine starting point for anyone who hasn't yet given them a go.

This is a stunning album from a set of amazing musicians collectively known as Radiohead.Thom Yorkes voice is absolutely awesome from start to finish. The album features a few call time classic songs with the multi-segmented "Paranoid Android" which is a very complex modern day anthem the hauntingly stunning "Karma Police" and the beautiful "No Surprises".

First listen was "wow". I've taken my time getting round to it, 10 yrs since its release. But I havn't been blown away in such a manner by an album since I first heard "Ten" by Pearl Jam. Musically wonderful, nearly every song brings tears to your eyes...depressing, but amazing.

Excellent, a future classic that will stand the test of time and remain as one of the greatest albums of the 20th century.
