The phone is probably excellent; however, my beef was with the seller.

1. Poor communications.
2. Inadequately described in the auction.
3. Accepted a return but provided no refund.

The phone arrived damaged; dents on the body, scratches on the glass plus the right function button not working. I immediately contacted the seller who stated 'everything worked before I posted it' & 'the description was accurate'; the evidence proved otherwise.

The phone was returned 'Recorded Delivery' which was received by the seller who has denied it had been delivered; electronic proof of receipt from Royal Mail.

Paypal failed to recover any funds from the seller after I raised a dispute to a claim; toothless tigers they are. Their buyer protection is limited; therefore, I always pay using a credit card.

I'm now starting a chargeback against Paypal through my credit card company for the full cost.

There seem to be many unscrupulous sellers of phones on Ebay; be wary, very wary...

if you want a mobile phone for style then the nokia 8800 sirocco is the one only bad points are battery life and volume.

I absolutly love this phone, it really looks the part and feels excellent to hold and use. The specification of it isn't great due to the camera only being a 2MP lens and the lack of memory or memory card slots. However I find that the 128mb internal memory is all that is needed to store a few songs for ringtones and various pictures.

So to sum up, if you want a phone that takes great pictures and has loads of memory buy a Sony Cybershot. If you want a phone that does all the basic things well, in supreme style then buy the 8800 Sirocco.

The phone is in perfect condition, The gold bluetooth which comes with it, is perfect. Is a bit hard to open the back of the phone, but if u do it properly it opens right

i love this phone. i recieved it in ammculate condition and it was orginal too and the phone is jus soo easy to use, very simply and stylish.

quality item bit lacking in functions does not take extra memory and will only connect via bluetooth to computer but looks and feels great.

Sirocco is an excelent phone. There is no doubt about that.

However, it will never be better than the regular 8800. I do have both, 8800 and 8800 Sirocco. I can see that the 8800 is a phone that is made to be best in every detail. On the other hand, Sirocco does not look like that. I think Nokia took Sirocco as an upgrade, but forgot to finish few details like design and software.

If you take the Sirocco black as an example. You can see marks on the phone as you touch it. 8800 does not show these marks.
Another example. Sirocco has a few upgades in the software, but some upgrades are not user friendly. For example the calendar. It takes more time to create a note using Sirocco than with the regular 8800.

What I appreciate is the longer lasting battery and bigger memory.


UPDATE 29 May 2008 - I just bought Sirocco Silver. It also shows finger prints as Sirocco Black.

Nice phone, only problem keys maybe a little small for texting, battery lasts a long time and camera is fine as long as you don't expect too much from it.
