Nintendo DS Lite Black Console

Great item, well worth it. Touch screen is a great extra. I bought this a couple of months ago and i still find myself clicking away on a daily basis. Great for all ages young or old.

This ebayer emailed me, immediately when they discovered a minor mark on this item. Their honesty was so unusual & refreshing i felt compelled to write this.
I have since added this seller to my favourites, of which there are only 3.

I am in my 60s and feel I am brain dead, so decided to buy the Nintendo DS Lite so that I could get my brain working again. I tried buying brain games for the computer but I like the small DS lite and the brain games that can be bought for it. I'm glad I bought it, it's great!

The Nintendo DS is a handheld game console by Nintendo. The system has two displays (the lower acts as a touch screen), built-in microphone, and support WiFi. The Nintendo DS is backward compatible with Game Boy Advance Games.

Despite a great system, the original Nintendo DS looks very bulky and unattractive. The “fat” design of the Nintendo DS makes it hard for people to carry it around and unattractive compare to other popular gadgets such as Apple’s iPod and Sony’s PSP.

This year, Nintendo released a redesigned model called the Nintendo DS Lite. The DS Lite provides the same functions as the original Nintendo DS except it is now smaller and featured brighter screens. The new design is a lot like Apple’s product (Not that there’s anything wrong with that).

Nintendo DS is 42% less volume (size: 133mm x 73.9mm x 21.5mm) and 21% lighter compare to the original Nintendo DS. The stylus is of the DS Lite is a lot longer, wider and heavier (43% bigger) which is easier to hold and use.

he Nintendo DS Lite retain the 3” size displays used by the original DS. The DS Lite featured a brighter displays compared to the original DS. Because the DS Lite screen so bright, it might be a little uncomfortable to play at the highest brightness level so Nintendo offer a four selectable brightness level to the DS Lite display. All brightness levels are still brighter than the original DS.

The start and select buttons are now rounded and place on the lower rights for easier access. The power button is now a slider and relocated to the right edge.

The Game Boy Advance Game Paks slot at the bottom allows you to play Nintendo Game Boy Advance Paks. The slot is by default covered to protect the slot from dust or foreign material. Due to the smaller design of DS Lite, Game Boy Advance carts will stick out from the GBA slot. It will not affect the way you play, however it may looked unpleasant to some people.

The Nintendo DS Lite battery provides 19 hours of play on 4 hours charge on the lowest brightness setting, 5 - 8 hours on the highest brightness setting. The power indicator and recharge indicator is clearly visible even when the device is closed.

I’m not going to write a lot about games since this entry is about the DS Lite hardware not the software. However, I’d like to recommend some games to people who are new to Nintendo DS:

* New Super Mario.
* Mario Kart DS.
* Brain Age.

If you’re in Japan, Opera will release a browser for Nintendo DS on 24 July 2006. Opera for Nintendo DS will allow you to use your Nintendo DS Lite to browse the web using a Wi-Fi connection.

Conclusion

The Nintendo DS Lite is definitely worth buying for people who are looking for a portable gaming console with bright screens and long battery life. The main reason I chose to buy a Nintendo DS Lite is because of classic Nintendo game titles such as Mario, Donkey Kong, and Zelda.

Current original DS owners might be wondering whether it is worth to upgrade their DS to the DS Lite. I personally would rather use the money to buy a new games rather than upgrading my system. Keep the kids occupied when you are busy, or on car journeys when they get bored easily. We now have one each, and play some of the games as a family.

THis seller claims the money cant come out until you give her feedback, and then nothing happens and your money has gone out of the account and you hear nothing from her.

Well pleased, extremely fast delivery and came as expected. I love this console so much that this is the second one that I have bought. The first one still works perfectly but I am not unwilling to share it!

I love all the brain training games you can get for it and I have seen a marked improvement in myself. There is also a wide range of adult games which are made for the DS. I love the fact that anybody can pick one up and easily navigate the screens, it is definately meant for all ages and ranges of people.

The stylus makes this console unique and very easy to use. There are other controls for use with different games which is pretty standard and very easy to use. Overall I recommend the DS Lite over the DS!

I really like this game console can be used anywhere and can be used for fun or the more serious items. Me and my daughter both have one and we sometimes contect to games and this is great fun.

We bought this on E Bay and the member did say that the screen was scratched and that her son could still ply his games, but unfortunately although you can play some games on it, its very difficult to play the likes of "Brain Training" where you have to write on the screen. A scratched screen makes it almost impossible.
So if buying one of these machines make sure the screen isn't scratched if you want to play the likes of Brain Training.
The screen is very bright though and very much better than the Nintendo Advance.
This review is for a Nintendo DS Lite with a scratched screen !! If the screen wasn't scratched it'd probably be very different.

Bought this for my husband to "train his brain"!!! - best thing I've ever bought as a present. He never gets bored with it and neither do I when I have a go. In fact it's almost addictive.

i absolutley hate ds with a vengance,the games are piss poor ports or lame cashins
,poor graphics,bad build quality,rubbish sound,its hard to belive these are the most popular hand held in the world,but the kids do love them

simplistic games,easy to control garish colours all adds up to something that appeals to those who havent yet developed taste(ie young uns) or those who long since forgot what taste is(old uns,stupid women)

i would rather my daughter had a psp or a gp32x but she wants one"cos her mates have"-and to be fair she does like it (for now,however im convinced once the novelty factor wears off like the wii it will appear back on here to be sold on to the next brow beaten parent)

i decided the ds was for me like everyone after seeing so many adverts for it on telly,i love the fact that its hand held and there are so many different types of games for everyone! its light easy to use and so much fun.
i love the fact that you can purchase several colours and styles of the ds and can customise it by purchasing several skins etc,also there are multiple accesories which make it a definate must.

possibly one of the greatest features of the ds is the touch screen which allows you to really be involved in any game overall i would recommend the console to anyone!
