I wanted something that was a bit more powerful than the run-of-the-mill compact digital camera and with the Nikon COOLPIX P80 Digital Camera, that's what I got. With its 10 megapixels and its 18 x zoom I can get up close and personal with images of excellent quality. I accept that it's not in the same class as other cameras priced at £500 and over but I get very good results and I'm sure my photographs are of a standard which could be published in any glossy magazine. Anyone with a "photographic" eye will find this camera gives results to be proud of.

I purchased the camera in order to benefit from the latest technology producing excellent results for an acceptable price. The star features included both 10 mega-pixels and an 18 to 1 zoom coupled with a very user friendly camera. However, whilst light and compact it will not fit in my trouser pocket, a convenience overlooked.

This is Nikon's latest Bridge Camera and is a beauty.
The camera is small and light enough to be taken on holiday as a "Snapshot" camera but still has all the features of an SLR.
The only drawback I can find so far is that it doesn't have the facility to store the picture in Raw format, only Jpeg.
Having said that, the large storage facility on an SD or SDLC card makes this a very attractive buy.
If you want all the SLR functionality without having to carry around several lenses then this is the one for you.
