My first Navman 320 was bought simply because it was cheap (£149 delivered) and I wanted to see if (a) it worked, & (b) wether I was capable of working it! (Old Git).
Very pleasantly suprised. After playing, then reading the manual, then playing again, I quickly became familiar with it. I used it all the time, even locally when popping down the road to the shops, so that I could see how it performed when I knew the journey well. I could ignore the directions, and see what happened, and how it worked out.
On longer, unknown journeys it has been excellent, and on occasions downright impressive. However I have not tried any of the similar competitors to do a comparison. The second Navman was a present for a friend, so I thought it would be easier to advise over the phone should a problem arise, if both units were the same.
To summarise: Low cost unit with a perfectly satisfactory performance. Keypad probably not as easy as touch screen, but works fine. Postcode search only uses first four digits, which is a pity. Out here, that could be 5 miles out!
Address needs house number as well as road name, so 'Boggins Farm' wont do, you will have to settle for a central point on the named road.
The display is good. I like the 'next feature' on the left of the screen more than the map. Directions are clear and easy to follow.
Will buy Navman again, maybee with updated software? Yes.

I bought the Navman ICN 320 for my Dad a couple of Christmas' ago basically because at the time it was the cheapest model Argos did. Two years on and we're so impressed with Navaman that we've just upgraded to the touch screen F20 model, just as impressive! We went to Halfords before settling on the newer model because we'd seen a touch screen one on TV. Once in store we were advised not to buy the TomTom as they were sick of them being bought back for faults but forced (like commission forced) the Garmin on us so we tried it. The Garmin was sending us everywhere and we were going to Wales in a couple of days so back it went and we settled on the Navman. We will never stray again!

I bought the icn 320 because a friend has one and recommended it . Although I had to have this one repaired it still satisfies my needs . I would not recommend this model to someone who uses satnav a lot as it is slow to set up .

  Women, Safety & Nav Man!
Review created: 10/08/08

My husband bought me this as a gift a few years ago. We have a daughter who competes horses and we have found this invaluable in finding our way to show sites miles away, often through unnamed country lanes. Without the Nav Man we would have got horribly lost and as we are towing horses along narrow country lanes that has to be avoided at all costs.
My daughter and her boyfriend used it all this weekend when they took a week end break and found it invaluable.
The only thing is I would like to be able to get the maps updated and sometimes it takes a long time to find the satellites’.
But all in all I love it and feel safer when out and about on my own. I am no longer scared of getting lost or worried that I will have to get out of my car to ask directions in a strange place - in my opinion all women drivers should have a sat nav. for safety reasons alone.

I like the nav man name, this item is a very nice unit works well, but I prefer to be able to connect my sat nav to my pc, also this one does not come With a mains charger incurring further cost, but that seems to be the thing that nav man omit from their units, other than that would recommend this unit ideal starter unit, good graphics and voice commands

The Free iPhone Guide

To get yourself a free iPhone all you have to do is follow the 3 easy steps:

Step 1 : Sign up for a free iPhone
Sign up at the link below to get your free iPhone. We recommend this free iPhone site because it's been TRIED and TESTED to work.

http://Gifts.real-incentives.com/2992 (copy and paste into browser)

You can choose other prizes like free consoles from this site too! Make sure you use a real email address. Use your real details when you sign up so that the company knows where to send your iPhone! Remember that they have been proven legitimate, so will send you your free iPhone if you do everything legitimately!

Step 2 : Try an advertiser's offer
Basically all you need to do in this step is complete one of the offers, this is where the freebie site make their money, if you complete an offer then the freebie site will recieve commission for it. So if you complete Coral which will only cost you £5 to complete, the freebie site gets £25 from Coral. The two best offers are Lovefilm Free DVD rental (rent two DVD's, keep them for about 2 days, send them back and then cancel the trial) and Coral (bet £5 on a sport). I would reccommend you do Coral as it credits in an hour and is really simple to do, Lovefilm however can become complicated and takes up to 2 weeks to credit! You can also try one of the other offers, most are gambling offers. Don't skip this step! You must complete this step to get your free iPhone!

Step 3 : Refer some friends
This part is a lot easier than it seems, especially now with free iPhone sites getting so popular. There's lots of people online who want a free iPhone too, so start referring them! You only need to get a few signups before you'll be finished. You can ask your friends or your online buddies. I already got a free PS3, Wii, and XBOX Elite without even having to ask my friends for help - there's lots of people online who want a free iPhone like you! One of the easiest ways to get a referral is to do a favour for a friend and ask them to sign up in return. That way, you both can get a free iPhone!

Basic rules
Don't break these rules! This is the only reason that you won't get your free iPhone, so make sure you follow these rules!

- One account per household - don't use a public computer to sign up!
- Use real information - this is a proven legitimate site and they will not give out your information.
- Only complete each offer once! You cannot complete the same offer again, even for different freebies.
- Don't try to cheat the system. This site has been proven legitimate, and they will catch you if you try to cheat. If you do everything legitimately, by following this guide, you will get a free iPhone!

Thats all, just follow my guide and you will have your free iPhone in no time.

Thank you.

  Navman iCN 320 GPS (SatNav)
Review created: 02/01/08
7 of 7 people found this review helpful.

This is my fifth Navman, the first one was ancient so I gave it to a relative, the second and third went to my sons, the fourth was stolen from my car whilst I was unloading the wife. Being strapped for cash and lost without my SatNav I logged onto Ebay as you do (a must for me - I'm an addict) and I spotted this second hand Navman and the price was right and within my budget - I snapped it up.
Over the years I've tried them all, Garmin, TomTom, several I can't recall the names just now and NavMan. I can, hand on heart say that of them all, including the very expensive models, I have found nothing that can compare to the Navman. Only once did I take a wrong road and that was more my fault than the NavMan.
I travel up and down, side to side of this country of ours, most of my family are long drives away. Road Atlasses are out of date before you buy them, they are costly and easily lost, especially when you lend them out. I don't lend my NavMan out at all, neither will you when you buy yours.
Any Satellite Navigation System will seem pricey, many are far more expensive than they need to be when you compare their perdormance but it matters not which model you buy with the NavMan label - you will be buying a fantastic and reliable piece of equipment that will serve you well for many years to come.
I had my doubts a few years ago but took the risk. Of all I have used there isn't one that comes anywhere near as reliable as the NavMan. I honestly believe that mine not only saves me a lot of money, reduces my mileage but if you happen to be one of those who care about Global Warming and the Environment, then by investing in a NavMan will make a difference and to your pocket too.
It's been years since I have felt so confident about anything but take my word for it - buy a NavMan, read the instructions and enjoy even the most tedious journey, you'll seldom take a wrong turning and there's another point to think about, Speed Cameras, yes, you can avoid them with the better models.
There is a downside though. Whatever you do when parking up, remove your SatNav from public view, remove the cradle from view too because if you don't hide them, someone less honest than you will do it for you - I left mine for a couple of minutes, behind security gates but it still walked - don't let that happen to you.
NavMan will be the best investment you will ever make - enjoy it.
Many Thanks - Have a Great Day - knowing you have seen this makes mine.

  Does the job
Review created: 17/07/07
6 of 6 people found this review helpful.

For a budget sat-nav, this little gizmo does the job quite nicely. Just don't expect too much.

It has very clear audio directions, and provides an on-screen readout which is easy to see and can offer some useful information - such as current speed, time, heading, etc.

The ETA function seems rather inaccurate though, and the fact that you can't input a full postcode to find a destination is a little bit niggling.

Aside from those things, there's not a great deal to fault with it. You get the usual points of information such as petrol stations, and you can customise your destinations with names.

At the time of release it would have been pretty up-to-date, but now I feel better options are probably available - unless you can pick a second hand one up pretty cheap, of course.

  GPS Newcomer
Review created: 16/07/07

I wanted to buy a satnav for our forthcoming camping trip down to Cornwall. Was a 'newcomer' to such technology and am amazed at how well it works both in and out of the car. Simple to set up & good but brief tutorial. Simple plug in, type in destination and you're off and away. Easy to load up with your favourite places or to note points of interest on trips. In today's technology terms I presume this model could be classed as a bit of a dinosaur as it's more than 18-months old. But it does exactly what it says on the tin and what I need it to do - so thumbs up from me.

Great piece of kit, nice and easy to use for ANYONE.
Can take a long time to pick up the GPS signal but very accurate once this is done. Let's face it, who needs the GPS for the first 10 mins near their home anyway???

has proved a good product albeit it is rather small and the installation needs some initial figureing out.
The Orignal packing is also not easy in case u want to use it for Storage.
The booklet does not give any information about what extra features can be added.
Apart from that it is fairly simple.

I decided to purchase a satelite navigation system because the necessity arose and I did not have £200-00 Pounds to spare to buy a new one. I saw the above system listed on E-bay and decided to bid for it and low and behold I won. The system arrived and I installed it and I have driven many miles with it and I can heartily recommend it to anyone. The software is a bit dated but I have learned to make allowance for that. The product is very well made and very easy to use. An investment well made in my opinion.

i bought this as a way to get round the country but beleive me after doing 1.4 million miles on a motorcycle (without a sat -nav) they either take you onto a blocked motorway (that is only blocked by sat nav users ) take a look at your next traffic jam and in that same traffic jam you will see foreigners of every country all sat on our motorways with there sat navs blocking our countrys main arterys because they ain,t got the brains or can,t read a english map (fact) now it don,t really bother me that much because i travel every where by two wheels but on the occasions i am on a blocked road thats all iv ever come across ohh yes and motorway road works mmmmmm ANY ONE WANT TO BUY A WELL LEANED ON SHOVEL SO NEXT TIME YOU ARE GOING THROUGH A ROAD WORKS INSTEAD OF PLAYING I SPY WITH YOUR KIDS TRY PLAYING SPOT THE WORKER AND NOTHER POINT IS SO MANY CAR DRIVERS PLAY I SPY HOW COME THE NEVER SEE THAT CAR IN FRONT

Not great for the north of Ireland
Review created: 06/04/07
by:
5 of 9 people found this review helpful.

Hi, I am told that this Navman works great in the UK mainland (Scotland, england and Wales) and also in the south of Ireland but it was extremely poor for me where I needed it most - in the north of Ireland.

It was good at locating the main roads, but these are simple to find anyway, but when I needed it most on smaller more rural areas it was extremely disappointing and the PostCode location searches never worked.

There are far better Sat Nav systems out there and if you are living in the north of Ireland or plan to use a Sat Nav here then I would suggest going for a more expensive system as this one was a complete dead loss for me?!

I am not saying that Navman do not make good Sat Nav systems or receivers but this was one a disappointment for me but I hope that my review will help others when choosing what I consider to be a luxury purchase?!
