Ben Franklin (Nicholas Cage) returns, following the success of the original. He's hunting treasure again and this time it's personal.
His great-great grandfather is implicated in the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln and it's up to him to clear the family name.
Great action, acting and plot-lines take Ben to Paris, Buckingham Palace, The Oval Office in the Whitehouse and Mount Rushmore. He's following a trail to try and find one of the most valuable and oldest treasures left to be discovered.
Sure, it's a little Indiana Jonesish, but the film works well because they don't try to emulate the Indy Format to closely.
Thoroughly enjoyable film and I hope there's more to come in this series.
Having liked the first outing of National Treasure I was hoping that the follow up would have the same amount of clever twists and turns.
Instead there was a quick trip around some of the top tourist locations in the world, with scenarios that were more than just pure fiction. The action was rather on the slow side and there were very few surprises.
An amiable outing for the story and the treasure was, of course, found, but the sub plot regarding the assasination of Abraham Lincoln was not explained properly to my liking.
Perhaps I was expecting too much from a sequel, but i had hoped it was going to be so much better!
wont bother with ebay again just order it from amazon or play quicker and more reliable, is it me or has ebay just got rubbish non payers scammers waste of time better to just buy it elsewhere
This is disney at its best, super story brilliant acting, and the settings are very imaginative, i have wanted to own this title the first chance i had and am very pleased to have bought this film lets hope theres a number 3.
Great family entertainment, action packed. Good acting though I was surprised at how much "Ben Gates" had aged! Not quite as good as the first one, this film was sometimes a little far fetched, not such a believeable story line (kidnapping the President? C'mon!)However, I look forward to the third film if there is one.
Another run out for nicholas cage in this second film,it`s good family entertainment but in my opinion not as good as the first as it seems to follow the same script as the original only its set further afield, still as I say good family entertainment,I bought it because of its entertainment value and to add to my collection.
National Treasure: Book of Secrets is a decent film. Nothing more, nothing less. I came out of the theater content, and yet by the next hour I'd forgotten much of what had taken place. Such is the case for most films now, however.
Compared to the first film, the plot is weak (certainly not as tightly drawn as the former) but the energy is the same and the humor is the same, and overall it's still as watchable as the first. Helen Mirren and Ed Harris were also very good, and somewhat surprising, additions to the cast.
Essentially, the movie is on the ridiculous/unbelievable side, but it's worth a watch. I don't think I'd pay another 10 dollars to see it again in theaters, but waiting for a rental will do.
The film is full from start to finish, but it isnt too much to take in, We thought it was better then the first! The acting was great and it was good to see the same cast in place. Really a very good watch.
Ben's back and once again he has to clear his family name and the plot is as good as the first film but it a little bit of a let down in some places but the car scene's more than make up for it in others Watch it for yourself and see but i will be waiting for the next one ? Why you ask because these films are good even great what do you think ?
A good sequel to national tresure 1. More treasure hunting for ben gates and friends. Lots of red herrings and clues to follow. Well worth a look. Keeps you on your seat.
Good film but very similar to the first one. If you liked first film you'll like this but you may find it a bit too familiar. Although this is definitely worth watching and some of the puzzles/clues are really clever and make you wonder slightly if any of it could be possible. I liked it, you should aswell!
Again Nicholas Cages takes the bull by the horns and throws himself in to action.A rollercoaster ride from start to finish.Good plot nice to see the film take the plot out of the USA for a while and then back again . One for all the family ,get the pop corn out sit back and enjoy.

Well what can i say ?. The 2nd adventure is just as good as the 1st. Well thought out plot, good acting. Lets hope that there will be more of these films . Fills in a gap for a modern Indiana Jones type .
Very impressed with quick delivery, packaging and quality would recommend, this was a gift for my nephew and he was really delighted with it, also very good value for money. Would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again.
fantastic film carrying on with the lives of the characters from the first film.Again brilliant ideas and clues for the audience to follow and appreciate. The international scope is just excellent.
my feelings are this film was as good as the first but then again i like nicholas cage. abit slow in parts but that is like most films i feel, overall a brilliant film
Having seen the first film and really enjoyed it. I was wondering if the sequal could do it any justice. It did, it was a gem. The cast was as good as the first, as was the villan. If you watch this in HD then you will not be dissapointed. The film was enjoyable and as the first full of twists and turns along with Impossible situations and puzzles that seem to pose no problems to our hero Ben Gates. Dont watch this if you want a deep film that makes you think. But if you are just after a good watch that doesnt require a Mensa degree, Sit back and enjoy
I hired the dvd to see what I thought about it and I found out it is a vey well made film and directed and now I have my own copy to watch when every I want to
