A great film. Can watch over and over again. Real epic. I have seen the sixtees theater version as well. The music and the story is fantastic. Star Audry Hepburn was my childhood idle. Presently, as a Newbie I wanted to buy something from eBay to practice, and "MY Fair Lady" was my first choice.
A really great musical that can be watched over and over again. The music is without a doubt first class and a fantastic performance from all the actors involved.
I didn't realise that I could buy any of the classics in such abundance,my choice was good, great quality even had an old fashioned interval! Was grest quality and it did what it said so all in all quite happy thanks.
i really enjoyed the film and wanted it on dvd. i like all the songs in the film it is one that i can watch over and over. it was one of the films i wanted and wanted to watch at my leisure. i like all the actors on the film too.
I love this musical. One of my favourites. The story of how a rough and ready street urchin is turned into a lady, with much pain and suffering along the way is classic Hollywood at it's best, laugh out loud funny and then deeply moving in turn all human emotion is here. They really don't make them like this anymore. I love the story and sing a long to all the songs. Audrey Hepburn was at her most beautiful, even though her singing voice was dubbed she mimed superbly.
Best viewing would be on a wet afternoon, with a cup of tea, it can't fail to lift your spirits.
I would recommend this DVD most highly to any connoisseurs of classic Hollywood musicals.
I have loved this film for years, owned it on video and just had to have a copy on dvd too. Audrey Hepburn at her best. Fantastic scenery, songs. Sunday afternoon in front of the fire, a classic.
I can't beleive I'm 24 and I'd never seen this lovely little musical before. I suppose you have to be able to bear musicals to like it but it's a great little story with great characters. One of those old feel good films where everything turns out alright in the end. A great family film. (Basically about a young peasant girl (Audrey Hepburn) who is taught how to speak properly so that she can become a 'lady'). Endearing.
This film is a delight from start to finish. Audrey Hepburn is brilliant as the much put upon Eliza Doolittle. With a great story & wonderful songs this really is a treat for young & old alike.
Long have we as humans graced the movie theatres and trawled the highways & byways of many a lonesome video store, in search of such ripe nuggets as these. Audrey lights up the screen with her beauty. Then there is Rex, the arcitypal english older gentleman, unable to sing a word (bless him!). When they say they don't make like this anymore, we here the cry "well, how could they!". A modern masterpiece of cinematic loveliness.
