Mariah Carey - Music Box (CD 2001)

I think all the songs on this album are brilliant. I am a definite mariah carey fan and when I decided to update my rather dated cd collection, hers was the first name I looked for. Although this is an old album, all the songs are beautifully sung, with my favourite being 'Anytime you need a friend'.

Romantic easy listening songs that area perfect backdrop for sex! The partner really likes the music,so lets face it, that is a big plus for me;-)

I bought the cd becouse it is very good music for me . I can relaxed and rested when I listen it. There is a lot of different songs and I can think abuut the past and my frieds.

The biggest commercial success of Mariah Carey's career came with her 4th release, Music Box, which easily remains one of her best albums to date. Carey is able to combine her five-octave range superbly with her polished masterpieces on this album. Generating platinum #1 singles such as the fluid "Dreamlover" and the inspirational "Hero", it is no wonder this album has become a multi-platinum success. Despite maybe being a bit ballad heavy, complaints are eclipsed by the globally successful cover version of "Without You" where Carey's best efforts are showcased. Whatever you are after - even the gospel tinge of "Anytime You Need A Friend" or the pure 90s dance pop sound of "Now That I Know" - Music Box has it all.

its hard to remember a time when mariah carey was all about the songs, and the voice. as she moved into slick r 'n' b, she left something behind which we have never seen since.

this is THE definative mariah cd. the voice is strong, clear and not to over souped. the songs are simple, with great melodies that mariah handles with precision and ease. the opener 'dreamlover' is quite catchy, but weak and the alarm bells sound as you expect just another pretty pop album. but then 'hero' comes along and your really start to listen. with nobody to rival her vocal range, she has the edge on whitney and celine, and uses it to good effect. the blistering ballads 'music box' 'all i ever wanted' and 'just to hold you once again' put mariah at the top of her game. even the urban dance tracks with clivilles and cole sound hip, without smacking of desperation.

the album ends with the bonus track 'everything fades away' which is a stunning, gospel tinged lament. and with an album this good, and mariah at the peak of her career, its hard not to feel like the song was an omen...

I decided to buy this CD as I lost my original one it is one of the best CD's Mariah Carey has produced every track is just amazing I will never tire of playing it.

I bought this album because it host some of Mariah's very best songs and just reminds me of some good times.

i love every single song as it brings back memories from when i was younger, i'm sorry but i have no dislikes about this album,
the reason why i bought it was because i lost my old copy, even my children like it.

This was her very best, recorded in the early-mid nineties in conjunction with the writing & engineering skills of Walter Afanasieff and encapsulated here in the Music Box album. Upon these two parting company Mariahs style changed to the "Black Street" style she is now more accustomed to, unfortunately the purity found in tracks such as the title of this album is long gone in her search for R'n'B 'name-dropping' fame.

Having been there from the start with Mariahs voice from the the barely controllable harmonizing of her self-titled album days, through the much more controlled and subtle album reviewed here and on to these days of a featured artist on every track I can truly say that Music Box was without doubt the pinnacle of her career ond definitely the style to which she is most suited.

She may have moved on, some 'fans' never will. Music Box is a must for any CD collection.

i decided to buy this item as the artist is an all time fave of mine! ive been after this item for ages and decided to treat meself! when i recieved it i was really happy as teh case was in good condition and the c.d was in brill condition! have listened to it loads and love it! this is 1 of me best purchases! so thanx irvo 4 selling it and im happy i won the bids on it!
