A must for all Linkin Park fans, however, I do prefer their older stuff as this album is a lot more mellow in my opinion. Apart from the songs they have released in the charts, the other songs are a lot slower and "easy listening".
I love linkin park and this new album doesnt fail to please. I love most tracks. what an awesome sound they have. Chester has a lovely voice. Hope they are around for a long time. I bought it as i have their other albums so it would have been rude not to but it.
I went to see Linkin Park on the 29th of January at the o2 arena in london and they were soooo brilliant, after hearing them live and some of their new songs on their latest albulm I just had to buy it and I am very pleased that I did as it's bloody fantastic, infact Im listening to it on my ipod now as Im typing this review!!!
I found this album quite mellow compared to the other albums. However a couple of songs are ok, I think I need to listen to it a bit more before I can make a comment. I have read other fans reviews and they arn't too impressed with the album. If you want a reall rocking or should I say heavy metal album, this isent for you. But if you like the softy side off rock too (I like both), this is fine. Just don't expect it to be like their prevous albums!
I ordered this album last week from amazon.com, I listened to it three times and can honestly say I am deeply disapointed with the bands new 'soft' direction. Its a bit like when metallica released 're-load' and all the fans were outraged, Kerrang magazine stated that 'blur' were heavier than metallica! The same has unfortunately happened again, perhaps the band have made too much money now and cant be bothered or are trying to make more money by trying to appeal to the masses, it seems like they have turned their backs on the fans who have put them were they are today. personally i believe the album is a self endulgent pile of turd! The CD makes a very good beer mat though so not a complete waste of money. Cheers gowjer
As a long-serving fan of Linkin Park, of course I was eager to get the new album when it came out. However, I have to admit when I first listened to it I was disappointed. The only song that really stood out for me, was the single "What I've Done".
But, on listenening to the album a couple more times, a couple of other songs started to stand out. "Given Up", with it's catchy intro and Chester's emotional vocals, it's a good song to listen to when you're in a bad mood! "Bleed It Out" has a fast beat and is very catchy. It puts Mike Shinoda's rapping skills to the test, but he does come out strong. Another of my favourites is "No More Sorrow", although it does have a military feel to beat in the verses, it's yet another good song to listen to when you're angry!
As ever, Chester's vocals really come strong on the ballards; "Leave Out All The Rest", "Valentines Day", "In Between" and "The Little Things Give You Away". The latter being the longest Linkin Park song that hasn't been remixed!
Overall the album definately improves the more times you listen to it. It shows how much Linkin Park have moved on muscially as the CD has a Parental Advisroy note on it due to some swearing. This is another first for Linkin Park. A lot of people may not like this album, as I feel it's a very 'grown up' record but I would say it's a must for all Linkin Park fans.
And here is where it all goes horribly Wrong. Chester gets bored of screaming, they broke the distortion pedal, mixed Mike Out of the songs, Joseph loses his mixing desk, and the drummer decided to beat his drums as hard as he could with an empty pink handbag without breaking his nails... This is what I Imagine when I listened to the Lastest LP CD Thier Old stuff was great, not greatly produced but thats what gave it that Real sort of element to it. This album has no Emotion, at all, behind the singing or music, no Omph if you know what I mean. It's like you've waited so long for a nice soothing yet hard and powerful massage of Hate/Torment driven music but all you get it a tiny tickle of tears he cried as he broke his pen writing it. Boo-hoo! My Advice would be Download it first, if you like it you might as well buy it and while your at it slice your wrist with the CD Case. If you don't like it then don't buy it, delete it from your machine and pretend you've never even heard of the new stuff... just pretend it don't exsist... Just a Few Words Said by the Kitty High In the Sky x
Linkin Park have matured and it sounds great. Yes, they're old stuff is amazing and perhaps a different genre, but their new much more mellow music is good too.
I have just purchased this album and like any new album you never know what you are going to get. Well done Guys...nice songs and nice music. Don't listen to the negative stuff .. people move on and music evolves.
It is very varied and is nothing like Westlife. Obviously a kid wrote that comment. It's Powerful It's Raw It's Loud and It's occasionally a little mellow. The lyrics are great and I think the guys should be applauded for this.
This is the worst album you will hear from Linkin Park Unless they make another one. i was a underground and street team member. you can be assured that my subscription has been canceled after hearing this appalling feature. I watched them live on Thursday 3rd of may and it was amazing cos they played their old stuff an the 3 new good songs 'what I've done' 'given up' and 'no more sorrow'. If you like westlife then you'll love this album its slow, peaceful and boring. It's a deep disappointment. I would give it a rating of 3/10 or 1/5 and only because those 3 songs are present. I highly recommend not to buy this album personally now i have it i would not even download for free its that bad. Linkin Park would of been better off if they had released nothing!
