Minder - Series 3 - Parts 1 To 4 (DVD 2002)

Minder was a tongue in cheek series about a light weight villain; Arthur Daley (played superbly by George Cole) who employed a minder, another light weight villain with form, called Terry McCann (played by Dennis Waterman). Arthur took care of the finances and lied to his back teeth about the amount of cash he was reaping for the job in hand. His outward bravado protected his timid nature; fisticuffs were not for Arthur hence the employment or exploitation of Terry McCann. Arthur never got his hands dirty; he left that for the talent of his minder. The pair managed many a bungled escapade but miraculously they both escaped the long arm of the law and, for the most part, bloke even or a little down on the day. These loveable characters provided great escapism from the reality of life. The series portrayed the pair with an air of casual humour and gripping anticipation, a talent not found in today’s so called comedy. Barbara Gray.
