AT LAST SOMETHING FUNNY!

This is late 1970's hilarious comedy. All 29 episodes are UNCUT which is something in today's politically correct environment. Ah! These were the days when comedy was actually comedy and altough deceptively simple, MIND YOUR LANGUAGE is wittiness at its very best. Each episode provides a belly laugh a minute. I can't believe this is now 30 years old (the programme was originally aired 1977 - 1979). I remember it like yesterday. These were the days when you could call an Italian a 'spaghetti', a Spaniard an 'omelette' and a Greek a "kebab" and people would laugh at it instead of take you to court as some sort of a 'racist'. Max the Greek, Giovanni the Italian and Juan the Spaniard are super hilarious! On top of that, one of the top funny subplot situation is the verbal fights between Ranjeet the Seik and Ali the Muslim, something which would cause uproar in today's world but is so funny here you're on the floor laughing. The Japanese man Taro, always comes out with head nodding and the expression of 'Asso'- which in some situations is so funny you need oxygen. Sue Li, the Chinese girl consistantly goes on about chairman Mao, and the French girl, Danielle, is a sexy femme fetale (perhaps considered a 'sex object' by today's standard) who likes being a femme fetale! - and so on and so on. In fact, every character is top notch! Barry Evans is great as Mr. Brown the English teacher and Ms. Courtney is one of those Dame Edna type 'dragons' that, although is snooty, is still likeable. The girls are 'birds'(there's a blonde barmaid), the caretaker's a 'cockney' (apples and pairs = chairs)called Sid, and the tea-lady's called 'Gladys' - and is also as English as they come. Have I missed anybody? We have a straight faced German girl called Anna, and a babbling Indian lady called Jamila as well. Later on in the series, the cast were joined by a sexy Swedette, Ingrid (as a rival to the French girl)and a nutty Hungarian called Zoltan. The jokes are never ending and at times they are so simple that you just can't help to laugh. This is as English are 'roast beef and yorkshire pudding'. If you like English comedy of days gone by then this is for you. Simple & gorgeously politically incorrect. Only for those with a sense of humour who are not offended by 'racial stereotypes' as they were conceived 30 years ago. The jokes are not only limited to racial stereotypes but also include 'religion, colour, sexual orientation' and English life in general during those days (football, boxing, the pub, the school dance, the school canteen, card games, the fruit machine, and so forth). If you saw the programme in the late 70's and remember it and how life used to be in this country way before the P.C. brigade took over, and want to own it then this is your chance. This is the best release around and is a must for all affectionados of MIND YOUR LANGUAGE.When I came across this release I snapped it up. It is worth every penny! I love it! This release is 4 disc set. There are 7 episodes on Disc 1, 6 episodes on Disc 2, 8 episodes on Disc 3, and 8 episodes on Disc 4. Yes, all 29 episodes are there including 'Kill & Cure' and the other 2 that were not available on the U.S. region 1 release a short while ago that contained 26 episodes. The picture quality of this release is 'good', you can tell that the programme is 30 years old and there is the odd little shake or the odd noticable interference but absolutely nothing to spoil your enjoyment of watching every episode!
