Marc Bolan, T. Rex - Messing With The Mystic (Unissued Songs 1972-1977) (CD 1994)

Messing with the mystics is like a greatest hits from the Unchained series. So if you have that set you are not getting anything new. Saying that Unchained series is getting harder to find these days & 'Mystics' is also becoming a classic in Marc Bolan fans collection. Yes many are home deomos or unfinished songs but WOW! what songs. Tracks like 'Over The Flats' based on Marc's true life feeling of moving away from friends as a child is outstanding. His re-make of Magical Moon is really different to the Tyrannosaurus Rex version. Early versions of songs later re-named for later albums are also on this CD.
I was glad to get tracks later remixed on 'Billy Super Duper' Cd on here as they were ment to be 'Love Drunk', 'Foxy Boy' & my favourite '20th Century Baby' which was written at the time he was being named 'Father of Punk' & it is a love song to Gloria. So on this you'll find some personal recording which maybe why Marc never got to complete or release them. Personally I've been after this CD for sometime & recomend it for any fans collection, it gives you a wild range of Marc's ability to change music styles.
