Magic Roundabout- CLASSIC!!!!!

Love this animated film, a must for anyone who remembers the original.
Dougal is as dim witted and sugar crazy as ever, which lands him in big trouble when he sets evil Zeebad free, whe he hijacks the candy sellers cart, and crashes it into the roundabout.
Dylan the rabbit, is cool, and obviously still a little high, the prospect of nothing growing including "grass", really spurs him into action.
Brian the snail is a strangely courageous character for a snail, and with a huge soft spot for Ermintrude, the cow, expertly voiced by Joanna Lumley.
Joanna gives Ermintrude the air of grace that we always felt she had, but with a slightly rough edge too.
Zebeddee, the main character is missing throughout most of the film, but is a dynamic figure in all the characters lives, spurring them on to find the diamonds and send Zeebad back from whence he came (or hopefully worse).
The voices were spot on, Robbie Williams as Dougal, had that cheeky edge, and you could quite imagine Robbie himself being a bit of a Dougal.
Ian McKellen as Zebeddee, had that learned air that set Zebeddee aside as a person (or should I say "spring"), of knowledge.
Tom Baker, excellent as Zeebad, ever so slightly mainiacal, the voice matched the character perfectly, his deep voice and raucous laughter just what you would expect from a frozen fruitcake.
Ray Winstone as Sam the soldier, the cockney accent was just right, sounding slightly baffled at everything.
Jim Broadbent was perfect as Brian the Snail, just the kind of voice you would expect a snail to have, slow, deliberate.
Lee Evans was just right as train, he talks very fast anyway, and always sounds slightly nervous, matched the animation to a tee.
However, Bill Nighy must take the prize for the voice of Dylan the Rabbit, wonderful, sounding slightly high all the time, gravelly, yet soft, this is my definite favourite.
The one slightly annoying character, to me, is Florence, i like Kylie Minogue myself, but the persistently high giggly voice can get irritating, fortunatley, she, like Zebeddee is absent for most of the film.
I bought this because I always loved the original, everyone said Dylan was on something, and I'm damn sure he still is.
The animators have made each character facially similar to the person voicing it, you can clearly see Ray Winstone in Sam, Tom Baker in Zeebad, Jim Broadbent in Brian, Bill Nighy in Dylan, and Train is very much Lee Evans.
I didn't buy it when it first came out, as a lot of these remakes are real let downs, but I bought it for the kids, and I love it.
Some of the jokes, and sideswipes bypass the kids totally, but being a 30 something they gave me a laugh, this is obviously aimed at the fans of the original series ( now mostly 30 (ish) like me), but also at todays kids, it will travel well, and won't date, as it's not set in a specific year, or place.
The music is also great, mostly 70's, Kinks etc....., my son loved Dylan singing "you really got me going" so much, I bought the Kinks album, and now all three kids sit quite happily and listen to it in the car on days out.
If you want culture, classic script, and a dose of reality, don't buy this.
If you want a great laugh at an excellently remade classic, with a good dose of fun, then buy it, a must for all you kids of the 70's.
Some remakes take themselves too seriously eg: Spiderman, Batman, but this doesn't, definitely worth watching.
