Well I looked forward to this album for a long time and was not dissapointed, yes it is different to many other Bon Jovi albums, but it still has that Bon Jovi touch, there are great rock tunes like Any Other Day and We got it going on, to some of their best ballads like Make A Memory and Stranger.
Brilliant album, new kind of music but still brilliant! I was at the Lost Highway Tour when it reached Coventry on the 24th June and some of the songs that were sang encouraged me to purchase this album. Some really nice songs on here and good lyrics.
Love this CD usual high standard by the great Jon Bon Jovi. Delivered within 24hrs, excellent sevice by Badlands will definately be shopping with them again. Going to Bon Jovi concert in Manchester on 22nd June and cannot wait!!!!!
I absolutely love this CD , i play it every day - all day.I decided to buy it , with confidence , because it was listed as wrapped - it was'nt , but i have no complaints because it was new & plays like a dream.I will buy from this seller again. This CD is my favorite Bon Jovi CD - - he is my MESSIAH !!!!.
my partner has been after the cd for ages and whan he got cd he played it stright away he is so happy with cd and will be buying from this ebay seller again
I am totally in agreement with magglepickle43 on this one. I have been a Bon Jovi fan since my teenage years (which is going back a bit) and I still love all things Rock Music but this CD is a serious disappointment and a bit wet. Maybe if you are young and new to Bon Jovi this will appeal but I still love the band and listen to all their earlier CD's regularly but this one is just not growing on me at all and sounds almost dreary.
I'll give it average just out of respect that it is Jon and the boys but come on guys get back to what you do best (even if the long hair is a thing of the past)
One slight exception... "We got it going on" is a good track - back to what they do best with Richie on his Vox / Talk Box.
Also if you are a fan of Richie Sambora (the Bon Jovi Guitarist) then check out his two solo albumns and also Cher's self titled album Cher - Bon Jovi did most of the music and backing vocals on this (listen out for the vox box again) and its another Desmond Child masterpiece.... oh this takes me back ;-)
it wasnt for me imparticular it was for my wife who likes the cd and i got it for her birthday.she didnt have anything bad to say about it she loves it i decided to buy it becus she has other bon jovi albums.
Just had to get this Bon Jovi album as it was a country one, maybe this is why all the reviews i read on it were not very good but as I love country music i think it is a really good album, especially the track with Leann Rimes and the other one with Big and Rich on not a bad song on it would recommend it.
I decided to buy this because of reviews I had read saying that it had a "country" influence, which it has to some extent. It's not a typical Jovi cd but never the less I would definately recomend it to Jovi lovers, especially if you like the new country feel.
I like this item very much. I try top find exactly this version od cd, because this is english version with bonus track Lonely. It is very hard to find UK edition if this cd inside of England. If you like Bon Jovi don't miss this cd.
Having seen Bon Jovi live last summer, their music is always of interest. Obviously songs like Living on a Prayer, Shot Through The Heart and Keep The Faith are classics. For the first listening, one has to feel that this does not live up to previous masterpieces. However the title track after a time gives a feeling of eager anticipation, with Summertime to follow. My own favourite is the subtle You Want To Make A Memory. So worth a listen, particularly for Bon Jovi fanatics, not up with the heights of some previous work, but with some excellent tracks, a worthy aquisition.
Being a true Bon Jovi fan I was a little disappointed by the last album, Have a Nice Day, so did not immediately rush out and buy this album, however I have to say they are totally back to the top of there game.
There are so many tracks to like and inevitably love about this album, these are, the obvious ones that they have released ie Lost Highway & Summertime,
But then there are other great tracks ie We Got It Going On, Everybody's Broken, Whole Lot O Leaving,
A Must for any Bon Jovi fan, but then for those who aint fans a great addition to your CD collection.
The latest in the jersey rockers impressive catalogue is this country influenced album. it sports 13 tracks, two of which are duets one with miss rimes and the other with big and rich.
1. Lost Highway - a good upbeat bouncy kind of song, that was used on the soundtrack of the movie wild hogs starring john travolta. good lyrics and nice tune 8/10
2. Summertime - not a bad song just not feeling it at the minute, maybe when summer really hits and your in the park or on the beach with the mp3 player on it'll feel ace but at the minute an average song 7/10
3. Make a memory - nice, slow and soothing. bon jovi back to their crooning best. for me on a par with bed of roses. 9/10
4. whole lot of leavin - another nice song kinda mid tempo not as slow as memory above but not fast either. definite country influence and a good song 8/10
5. We Got It Going On - Awesome track, currently the song being used to promote the Arena football league stateside, where bon jovi own a team. its a great song quite rock and loud. got big and rich providing support. 10/10
6. Any other day - hyped as the best jovi song in ages, for me not quite but still a great tune, maybe it'll grow on me but for now its asolid track with a good feel 8/10
7. seat next to you - a different kind of sound for jon and the guys, sounds almost mexican acoustic if you know what i mean. unsure as of yet 7/10
8. everybody's broken - a good solid bon jovi tune reminiscent of the crush style of song 7/10
9. till we aint strangers anymore - another nice tune and the duet between jon and miss rimes is good, very soulful 8/10
10. the last night - another crush era tune to me quite good as well 8/10
11. one step closer - thought they'd covered linkin park when i saw the title lol. turns out its a country sounding tune that feels great at the tail end of the album 8/10
12. i love this town - this one is another of my faves as it matches my feelings for the little town of wigan that i live in and wouldn't change for the world 9/10
13. lonely - sounds very much like a jon kinda song similar to midnight in chelsea good to hear that style again 8/10
overall a very good album!
