The Beatles - Live At The BBC (CD 2001)

i absolutely love this double album a fantastic live compilation from the best band of all time well worth listening to a fantastic album

I'm reliving my youth while I still have time and being an avid Beatles fan decided to buy this CD as I used to listen to the radio program back in the sixties. It's absolutely brilliant and a must for anyone who listened to 'Pop go the Beatles'.

i'm a fan of the beatles anyway, and to buy this cd in a shop would've cost me an arm and a leg. the cd is in very good condition and sounds great, and yes i would buy off this seller again. thanks sally.

These 2 cds are amazing!! They are talking as well, and they sing such songs I've never heard before. I really like it!!

This is another of these type of collections that seem to be in great abundance on e.bay... You should be able to pick yourself up as copy for around £3.50.. Be prepared to wait a few days, as you will get hold of one... If you don't already have this in your collection, and your a Beatles fan it is a must have... Just to hear early classics such as 'Love Me Do' 'All My Loving', 'Ticket to Ride', 'I Feel Fine' and many more like you've never heard them before is exciting.... In total there are 69 tracks in this double disc collection.. A total of 26 of them were never recorded elsewhere by The Beatles, making this collection indispensible... On the down side, the entire collection is in glorious mono - A factor that according to Beatles Press agent Derek Taylor, played a big part in the Beatles finally deciding to stop doing sessions for the BBC, as their equipment even by the mid sixties was antiquated... Having said that.. To hear nearly 70 tracks in sparkling quality, mono or not is quite remarkable, as so much of the BBC archives from the 60's ended up wiped, (though I suppose there was no likelihood of that ever happening to Beatles recordings)...

The proffesionalism on show thorought these recordings is great to hear.. and what is so evident, is that all those marathon gigs in Hamburg between 61-62 was now paying dividends, they even recorded fifteen tracks in one marathon day long session...
I think the thing that made the Beatles so special in the early sixties was that they were so quintesentially English.. Thereby having a band whose strengths lay in their Englishness, don't quite cut it whilst trying to do Little Richard, Elvis or Buddy Holly numbers, not in terms of technical ability, but moreso in terms of Americana rock n' roll feel... A minor critisism from such a massive collection of gems...... Buy It!!!!

The beatles live at the bbc has about 70 tracks with an excellent covering of rarities and b sides from please please me days and right through to there later album hits. Some tracks with the beatles joking around whilst in the middle of live recording. There are cover songs too which the beatles execute to perfection hippy hippy shake, johnny b goode, you really got a hold on me. And with such a wide range of tracks theres something for everyone.

I had already got this on cassette and to be able to get it now on CD is fantastic and will be played over and over again.

I collect Beatle memorabilia and did not have this CD in my collection, which I now have and am constantly checking ebay for other items I can add. A good buy.

The Beatles are perhaps the greatest popular musicians of all time, and when you listen to this album you will understand why. Not their best album, but still plenty of incredible songs on here - that will never go out of date. Incredible Stuff. Guaranteed something for everyone.
Everything from the Sleeve to the music is Legendary - Plus in HMV/Virgin these beatles albums are always around 12-15 so grab yourself a bargain.

As someone who has virtually all the Beatles' LPs, it is a great treat to find a double album from their dynamic early period that has new and previously unheard material. Some of the tracks are shaky, some of the songs covered are downright awful, but in the main this is a good snapshot of the Beatles, still freshly in the public eye, playing good old rock n roll and pop standards.
Not for those who require their music to be polished in the recording studio, its a bit rough and ready at times, but I love it.
