This show is ideal for young and old alike. A feel good dvd to watch for all the family. I bought this dvd as I loved to watch this on tv when I was a child. Some would probably say it was too sickly sweet, because although bad things happened it usually all turned out well in the end - but they are probably the ones watching it in secret :) A must-have dvd for Little House fans.

I bought this DVD Pack as a 7th birthday present for my granddaughter because I remembered how much my daughter loved the TV series when it first appeared on television. This series wss excellent family viewing, often very moving, but with no gratuitous violence or sexual scenes. As there were a lot more series of 'Little House' I shall be able to add to my granddaughter's collection for future presents.

It's like being on an emotional see-saw!
I first saw this series as a child back in the 70's and I cannot remember it affecting me emotionally then.
Filled with excellent characters, great stories, lots of tears.
The programme centres on the Ingalls family, (Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote the books)headed by Charles, his wife Carolyn and their 3 daughters Mary Laura and Carrie.
This series brings the Ingalls family to Walnut Grove where they adjust to farming life and handle all adversities that come their way.
One of the best stories was where Laura was jealous of her new baby brother and when the baby died suddenly and Laura saw how unhappy her parents were she blamed herself and climbed one of the mountains in order to be 'closer to God' where she would offer herself for the life of her brother.
Melissa Gilbert as Laura is sensational throughout the series.
Thought provoking stuff, lots of morals, and kids who know how to behave, in a caring for others backdrop...
On the downside, the dvd quality is not overly brilliant.
The colours fade in and out at times, and the sound is low.
But this aside the programme is great family entertainment, and I would recommend it.

Loved recalling watching with my family when young. Forgot just how wholesome and good valued they were. A real breath of fresh air! Bought it because they simply do not repeat these on t.v. which is a real shame as more people could then relive the experience or it could go to a new audience. My 10 year old loved it and re-enacts 'goodnight john-boy' when going to bed.

Why do some sellers not bother to leave feedback? DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER IF YOU WANT ANY FEEBACK LEFT. They must be very important people who only bother every 2 months or so. A TOTAL WASTE OF SPACE......................

I had wonderful memories of this series and the dvd didn't disappoint. It was just as good as I remembered. The episodes can be watched singly or in sequence and still be enjoyed. A lot.
If you decide to collect the entire series I would warn you that there is a large jump in price from series 2 to series 3 but this may come down in time.

I decided to buy this item because I watched bits and pieces of seasons and episodes on and off for years, so I was browsing on ebay and thought why not! I like this item because it's easy watching and great when there's nothing on TV on Sunday afternoons. I dislike this item because it's sometimes too predictable and cheesy.

I love little house on the prairie, it reminds me of my childhood, in the 70's we only had 3 channels, and little house was the only thing worth watching , it does drive my husband mad . The only thing that dissapoints me is i purchased series 1 and 2, but i cant find series 3 etc on region 2.
