I love everything about this record. I would say the same about all of Sandy Denny's music. In my opinion she had the most beautiful voice of any singer I have ever heard and this record is another illustration of this as well as showing that she was also possibly the most talented female songwriter Britain has ever produced. Her performance of traditional British folk songs was also pretty awesome. I had always been familiar with the Fairport Convention albums that had brought her to wider attention in the late 1960s but had not heard much of her solo material or the music she recorded with other bands, i.e. the Strawbs, Fotheringay, etc. until fairly recently. I got a DVD about her life at Xmas and decided to search for her music on eBay. Since I started looking I've managed to buy a number of these records which I have all enjoyed enormously. I am actually still actively searching. To me Sandy Denny was the single most important figure in the evolution of what became known as folk/rock music. When she joined Fairport she introduced traditional folk songs to her fellow band members who embraced them and then created a whole new style of contemporary music using traditional rhythms. This was illustrated in the 3 LPs they released while Sandy was with them culminating in "Liege and Lief" which was voted by radio listeners some years ago as the most important folk album of all time.
