When this album was first released on vinyl(1968), I was at school and I and the world had never heard of Led Zepplin. I was completely blown away by it. It is impossible to explain the impact it had because it is out of context on a personal and greater level. This was the FIRST LED ZEPPLIN ALBUM, nothing like it had ever existed. If you're a Zep freak, Rock fan, social historian or just curious, you really should check it out. How important was it to me? I carried my copy everywhere with me, never went anywhere without it that summer. Saw them play it at the Bath Blues Festival 1970.Bought a drum kit, Love Bonzo's playing, Huge influence on me still nearly 40 years later. Fantastic. I can't judge it objectively, don't want to.
Good old Led Zep - just don't let you down. Originally bought the LP years ago but sold collection and haven't really listened to them for quite a long time - this CD is just really good and money well spent re-acquiring it
Maybe not the best of their albums, that honour probably falls to Led Zep IV, but this is right up there as one of if not the best debut albums of all. With its roots in Blues, R&B and Rock 'N' Roll what could be better. You may outgrow metal but you won't outgrow this. It rocks.
