I am a huge Beatles fan. they have always been my favourite band. I am, however, not sure what the point of this album is? It's remarkably well engineered and the sound is crisp and full but then you would expect that from George Martin but why did they bother. It is interesting to hear different presentations of Beatles tracks and I know it was a project done for a specific purpose but I just can't help thinking it was another money making way of keeping the group in the public eye (as if they need it!). Harden fans will of course buy it, my family bought it for me because they know much I like them. Make your own minds up, I prefer the original tracks in their original form.
I found this very hard to listen to, it was more of a compilation of greatest hits than pure beatles. This could be me and an age thing! The album is well made just not to my taste
I didn,t like this at all, the mix was crude and production poor.It goes to show that these songs were perfect befor. George Martin should move on or give up.I only decided to buy it because it cost me 99p and with any luck I will be able to off load it later. So thats it can,t find anything positive to say.
As a music lover who was 'around' when this stuff first came out, modern remixes of classic grooves can often generate the response "if it ain't broke, why must you think you've got to fix it?" This, however, is very definately the exception to that rule.
The creation of this remix/compilation was inspired by it being used as the soundtrack to a routine performed by the highly successful 'Cirque Du Soleil' acrobatic troupe. In the hands of original Beatles record producer George Martin with his son Giles, the original recordings have been refreshed and manipulated with integrity and care. The result is noticeably new whilst still retaining a high level of familiarity, so diehard fans should not feel any sense of betrayal. Enjoying the benefits of modern techniques and equipment, the recordings now sound brighter and cleaner than ever. This is particularly evident in one or two 'unplugged/acoustic' segments. These segments help also to clearly demonstrate the skills and considerable talents of The Beatles as musicians and composers, collectively and individually.
Being created for use as a soundtrack to a live acrobatic routine, there are no traditional pauses between tracks. Cross-fades and sound effects have been employed to link tracks. This may not be to everyone's taste when it comes to a 'personal listening' environment. This may also possibly hinder or limit the disc's appeal to 'new listeners' who may be auditioning these recordings of The Beatles for the first time. However, this reviewer finds the soundtrack 'stands alone' well.
In conclusion, we're familiar with the old nugget of wisdom "you can't please all of the people, all of the time"; but I think disc this should please quite a few of them!

I bought this album for my husband for xmas. It,s really good as there are a great variety of songs on there, although, there are a few he doesn't know.
As a mad Beatles fan, I like almost all their stuff but this is absolutely fantastic. What George Martin and Giles Martin have done with the music is brilliant, things flow together nicely and I think the majority of people would truly like this album, even if not a Beatles fan.
