Sadly overlooked, worthy sequel

Those Jaws sequels - they do get a bum rap, don't they? Okay, Perhaps parts 3 and 4 were weak, but still, I've seen worse.
Jaws 2 is, in my opinion, a very good film. Sure, no-where near the amazing first film, but still, highly enjoyable.
The story goes like this. Shark is in Amity. Again. No one belives Brody. Again. The shark starts a-killin' and guts start a-spillin', and then people take notice. Again. The only real change from the first film is that the teenage kids are the ones the shark is after in the last part of the film.
People forget that this is written by the same guys as the first film, and all the original cast are back (except Quint and Hooper) - which helps you get back into the world of Amity straight away.
My only problem is the first half is slow. Really slow. The director spends too much time on pointless little scenes, building up minor characters who aren't important, rather than on shark attacks.
But the photography is spot on - some nice shots are on display through-out - and the shark, when it appears is more convincing than the first film. Everyone on screen does a good job (even the kids) and it delivers thrills in the second half.
A good film in it's own right and a more than worthy sequel.
