I've not heard any other ALOL stuff before, just a gig that I went to last week where they played with a friend's band (Ted Maul). The album is full of angular riffs in odd time signatures, highly reminiscent of Meshuggah (Though perhaps a little less extreme) and lyrical content that often reminds me of Arch Enemy (in fact the vocalist does sound a bit like Gossau, despite a difference of about 6 stone and 1 gender...). I recommend it to anyone interested in unusual rhythms who hasn't already acquainted themselves with the work of Tomas Haake and Gavin Harrison.
