Funny in every sense of the way. This film follows five young fun loving, club going, party animal friends from friday through to monday. Be prepared to drive straight into the world of britains drug culture.

It's set in Cardiff, where a group of pill-popping pals take us through their weekend of highs and lows - literally. Main protagonist is Jip (John Simm) who, in between driving under the influence, telling all and sundry about his problems downstairs, and letting us hear his unconvincing Del Boy impressions, is hell-bent on having the weekend of his life. Inevitably, that means more than a quiet pint down his local.

This film is hardly "family material" but a good laugh non the less.

what a brilliant fim basically its about Five best friends, 48 hours and a bucketload of ecstasy pills make for an enjoyably lightweight slice of pop-cultural ephemera from debut director Justin Kerrigan. Cardiff is the city, and hardcore partying, clubbing and pubbing is on the menu as Jip (John Simm) and his renegade band of McJobbers clock off and head out for a weekend of debauchery. Among Jip's hedonistic posse are the cheeky cockney drug-dealer Moff (Danny Dyer), the terminally jealous boyfriend Koop (Shaun Parkes) and the bad-boy magnet Lulu (Lorraine Pilkington).
And that's pretty much it. Our heroes meet in a pub, get drunk, take drugs, go to a club, then to a party, then home and then meet up in another pub, just in time for the closing credits. Along the way there's a shamefully lethargic attempt to establish character back-story: Jip is temporarily sexually impotent because his mother's a prostitute; Koop's father is institutionalised; Lulu has nasty boyfriends; and Moff has conservative parents. But generally Human Traffic is happier at the heart of the party, celebrating the intoxication of club culture--which it does in style. Kerrigan pulls out all the formal stops with an energetic melange of jump cuts, slo-mo, and speeded-up "smudge" motion camerawork. There's also direct addresses to camera, fantasy sequences and some self-conscious cameos from DJ Carl Cox and former-drug dealer Howard Marks, author of Mr Nice. Wall-to-wall music from the likes of Fatboy Slim, William Orbit and even Primal Scream help paste over the occasional cracks in the veneer, which include some particularly duff lines ("We're gonna get more spaced than Neil Armstrong ever did!") and a drawn analysis of drug references in Star Wars, a nod to the films of Kevin Smith, such as Clerks, Mallrats and Chasing Amy. And if the whole project already feels dated and empty, well that's because it perfectly captures an essentially 1990s moment, and one gloriously empty weekend!! the dvd collection would be empty with out it!!

What a film by an absolute genius, who truly understood what he was writing about. Anybody who did not enjoy this film must have thought they bought something else. I have actually owned this film 5 times now and seen it many many more, there is not a person I have spoken to who was young through the nineties that does not think this is a classic and a must for any dvd collection. Still has me in stitches to this day and something I can certainly relate too

This movie belongs in the collection of any party goer. It gives the partier a a title to which they can relate, and to those unfamiliar with this world its just plain funny, if not a little educational. It epytomises the late 90's club scene and does so mixed with a music score designed for all hybrid dance tastes.
Great movie and extras....well worth a watch.

What a great film, brings back many good memories! I think they pretty much capture all that was a drug fuelled weekend of the generation! Highs and Lows, with a total sense of anticipation and empathy for every1 you met!
