abit slow 2 start off with but when it get going its a good film.its an 18 this is a sick in a way film they buy people then they have 2 torture them and kill them they can take as long as they like but if they dont kill them they both dont leave the building alive
I think hostel part 1 was brilliant but this is even better. It carries on from part 1 although you can easily pick it up. Certainly not for the faint hearted but a very good story.
I am really into horror films which is the reason that I bought Hostel Part 2. I have previously seen Part 1 and to be honest I didn't really rate it that much. Part 2 was a bit better but still lacked that 'certain something'. If you watch films just to see blood and gore, then this film is for you. Just don't expect too much. I would rate it a 7 out of 10.
This has to be a 1st? Normally sequels are a bit of a disappointment but Hostel 2 has to be an exception. It follows straight on from the 1st and has great continuity with a beginning and ending that is very unpredictable. The special effects are sometime to realistic which is quiet scary!!! All in all its a 5* in my book
the first hostel film was the most relistic one to me but hostel 2 had more than an unrealistic feel to it.it had an hollywood feel to it with an out of touch idea of eastern europe
IF U LIKE BLOOD & GORE THEN YOU'LL LOVE THIS FILM!!! I THINK THIS FILM IS JUST AS GOOD AS HOSTEL 1 & EVEN IF YOU HAVENT SEEN HOSTEL 1 IT DOESNT MATTER AS AT THE BEGING OF HOSTEL 2 IT EXPLAINS WHAT HAPPENED IN HOSTEL 1 SO YOU KNOW WHAT THE STORY LINE WAS AND YOU CAN UNDERSTAND IT.
Excellent sequel. Tarantino at his Best! In my opinion actually better than the Part I, it told more of the story. Eli Roth is an excellent writer & director and I recommend you check out her other titles. Another great Lionsgate horror production that isn't just blood and gorr and actually has a story that gets you thinking. Highly recommended!
One of those films you either love or hate. Not as gory as Hostel part one but still enough to make you squirm. Not a film for those who like a complicated plot but ideal if like me, you just like horror for what it is. Very typical Tarantino though with one particular part that shocks a bit(The men especially). You will see what i mean if you watch it. Overall I would give it 7/10.
If you liked Hostel 1, don't expect the same enjoyment from Hostel 2. The storyline is predictable and the ending was terrible. It's obvious that Eli Roth/Q. Tarantino are trying to create a good 3-4 films like Saw...
Positive Points
- More blood than gore...suppose its good if you prefer the slasher sort of movie - The thuggish kids and Paxton are in this film, helps recap - Very funny points! (Kids kicking the head around as a football!) - Good twist at the end...the only unpredictable part of the film
Negative Points
- Torture wasn't gore - just blood...it was more quick deaths rather than the prolonged ones like in Hostel 1 - Slow start...more like a cheesy horror build up - I'd compare this film to Scream - very mild - The makeup (blood, slashing etc) wasn't great..fire the makeup artist!! - At the end, my reaction was "Is that it?"..
For the easily horrified - perfect film for you For the serious slasher fans who like a lot of torture/gore - you won't be happy
Just like the first Hostel it has loads of blood & gore, and when I say loads I mean absolutely pints/tons of it. This time, the Elite Hunting bosses seem to pick on young female backpackers instead of the young male ones. Recommended for all the gore hounds out there. You won't be disappointed. I wasn't. Loads of great extras on the DVD too.
