T'Pau - Heart And Soul (The Best Of T'Pau) (CD 1993)

The year was 1987 and T'pau were almost as big in America as in the UK, "Heart and soul" charted there before the UK and weirdly reached No. 4 in both charts. Another even bigger hit was to follow,"China in your hand" went to No. 1, and at the start of 1988 "Valentine" reached No.9. The album, "Bridge of Spies" also reached No.1 and their next two albums also went top ten although sucess in the singles chart was limited.
This Greatest hits album, that reached No.35, has the best of all three T'pau albums which contains the smash hits as well as the ones that got away.
T'pau split in 1993, but in recent years Carol Decker has toured again, although she is the only original that remains of the group named after Mr. Spocks Mother from Star Trek.

This cd is a great collection of songs from T'pau. I was in my early teens when they first hit the scene and although I liked them was more into other groups. However, whether it's nostalgia and trying to re-capture youth I decided to purchase the hits. I am glad I did, even though some of the tracks sound somewhat dated, they are still a pleasure to listen to what with Carol Decker's powerful unique voice which give the tracks a distinct sound. There are tracks from all of the three albums, the more well known of course Heart and Soul, Valentine, China in Your Hand, I will be with you and Bridge of Spies and Secret Garden out of the 12 tracks. I am glad I purchased this cd and will definitely enjoy playing it. I recommend this to anyone out there trying to bring back a little bit of their 80's yesterday!
