Being a big Neil Young fan I'm perhaps a bit biased. This is Neil at his very best, tunes you can sing along to,instead of the head banging stuff.Although I like all his stuff,I just needed a quiet moment & this album provides just that.
Great album without the 'dark' feel/mood of the 'Harvest' album. Bought the 'Harvest' album first and enjoyed it so Harvest Moon seemed the natural N.Y. follow up. If your thinking about buying a N.Y. album but unsure which to plump for go for Harvest Moon. This album just seems to 'catch a hold of a time' in a warmer friendly way.
I rate this as one of the best Neil Young albums I have bought in a very long time. The style is somewhat like " Harvest" and " After the Goldrush". Thought Neil Young had lost it a few years ago - but this album has proved that he is still able to produce high quality Country/Folk/Rock. A must for all Neil Young fans,- and for those who have just discovered how brilliant this guy is. This album will stand alongside his other great albums.
