Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets (DVD 2003)

We thought we had this title in the series but unfortunately we had not bought it when it was first released. We looked on ebay and grabbed a real bargain. The case and dvd were in mint condition and we were very pleased with the transaction.

This film, like its predecessor, Philosopher's stone, higlighted JK Rowling's amazing story lines and kept to the book, not creating imaginary happenings that didnt happen. I have never really like Emma Watson's and Daniel Radcliffe's acting styles, but they certainly look the characters. Each individual, such as Kenneth Branagh, stayed true to the role. Richard harris was indeed the best Dumbledore. Compared tot the idiot Gambon we have now which has NO IDEA what the character should be like, I thought Harris portrayed him wonderfully. These first two HP films were spectacular, but as soon as we reached the 3rd and 4th film, HP lovers groaned. Changing the story line with some truly dreadful actors, us film and HP lovers remember the good first two films. Lets hope the 6th and 7th films exceed our expectations, which are pretty low at the moment. (5th was ok)

I had this film before on DVD but had it stolen, brought this one as a replacement, I love all of the Harry Potter Films, it's the magical part of it and the mystery. Great Film.

This particular film was full of wit with some hilarious bits in it. It would appeal to the adult population of Harry Potter lovers because many of the scenes have more to them than it would appear to the children. I really enjoyed the scene about the poly juice potion in Mrytles bathroom when Hermione turned into a cat!
But the overall film is extremely easy to watch and has suspense as well as humour. Well worth buying, especially as the story line does carry on throughout the series.
Definately worth having in your collection.

the young harry and his friends are still sweet and innocent in this film of the second book. i especially like the onset of chemistry between ron and hermione....what will happen there?
i know the story well, having read all jk rowlings books and owning a few dvd's in the series needed to complete the set, especially now my 2 and half yr old is enjoying it too.
the spiders are a bit scary though, even for me!

This is a essentially a solid film, it feels more mature & better paced than the first film, having a little more time to develop a good atmosphere. The one criticism I have (& please correct me if I’m wrong) is that I can’t remember Ron Weasley hitting Lockheart over the head in the book. In the context of Lockheart being damaged by the backfiring of Weasley’s wand it strikes me as gratuitous that he should be then hit over the head with a rock! Apart from this though it is good entertaining viewing.

Harry enters his 2nd year at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry he has another magical adventure with his friends Ron and Hermione. Packed with a flying car, giant serpant and more.

Just as good as the book in my opinion.

I am a mother of 3 adult children & a granny of 1,12 week old baby boy,but I adore the magic of Harry Potter & his friends.Tapes I find,deteriorate with use,& when he is older I would like to introduce him to the magic.There is not enough of it in childhood today.In the meantime I can watch them time & time again & the quality remains constant.I don't mind admitting I'd rather watch these films than some of the films meant for adults.Oh for an imagination half as good as J.K.Rowling.

here we go again film two was just as good as film one if not better the heroes are starting to come out a bit more and the book was a bit darker than the first and the movie doesn't disapoint it was just a bit darker as well

Whether or not you have read the books makes no difference, if an adult or child. The movie is a excellent watch. Well worth the time and money.

trying to converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this film gem. thank you

I bought it because I have the other and I enjoy the films with him in so much.I like all the magical things him and ron do to peopple.

It's good and all that, but it somehow doesn't have the magical quality of the books. I think that children who have not read the book will be enthralled, but for followers of the book, I think that it will be a big disappointment.
On the up side, Emma Watson (Hermione) is great, but I guess she, like the film, had already done it in the first one.

Who dont love Harry Potter? Ive watched a couple of the films and loved em so now im gonna buy em all for my 5 year old daughter!!! Its the adventure and excitment thats so great about the film.

Best Harry Potter even compared to the latest one, absolutely adored Dobby the House Elf would liked to have seen more of him thought the ending was fantastic well thought through by the author Iam now a dobby fan

I had just finished reading this with my son and thought it would be good to see the film. The whole family loved it! We will certainly be watching it again!

We join Harry in his second year - yet again his school life is not a quiet one. This is one of my favourite HP films as it was a shorter book so the storyline is really there. Watch out for Dobby teh House elf - he is very cool.
