This film had a lot to live up to. Silence of the Lambs was fantastic and as Jodie Foster did not want to do this movie it started life with a limp anyway.
Anthony Hopkins was playing along though and resurrects his character with a relish. No longer confined to his Perspex hell he takes full advantage of his freedom.
Watch it with an open mind, don't expect the impossible. Taken on its own it a pretty good film and will get your attentiuon and keep it to the end.
I decided to buy the hannibal DVD of EBAY because the film had been on telly the night before and i had missed the end. Although i had already seen the film before and knew how it ended, i wanted to watch it again. The prices of the DVDs up for auction on EBAY where fab. It actualy worked out cheaper to buy the DVD off EBAY then to borrow it for a night from Blockbuster!!!
This film is a great sequal to The Silence Of The Lambs. Anthony Hopkins is great as always. I strongly suggest you buy and watch the whole Hannibal series (Hannibal Rising, Red Dragon, Silence Of The Lambs, Hannibal).
This DVD keeps you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. The very character of Hannibal Lecter is likeable in a strange sort of way because he only eats the rude and can't abide bad manners. A cracking film and well worth the money.
i bought this dvd because i've seen it once before and thought it was good. it is really good, it keeps you hooked throughout. it gets a bit gruesome in places which makes you bit queasy- not for the squeamish. but you'll not forget in a hurry. overall a great film. if you enjoyed silence of the lambs you will love this!!
The movie was a gift for my girlfriend. She loves all the movies in the Hannibal Lecter series. Her daughter also wants to work for Crime Scene Investigators so it give her an insight into police work on serial killers. Both give the film a big thumbs up.
What a thriller you are on a roller-coaster from the start right to the end Hopkins plays dome of his best acting in years playing at his best as the mad man DR Hannibal Lecter
