Mariah Carey - Greatest Hits (CD 2005)

This is one for the die-hard fans of Mariah only in my view. I admittedly do like a couple of her songs, but there's a lot of tracks that sound the same to my ears, and I reckon you'd be better off saving your money and buying something worthwhile.

Mariah Carey burst on the scene 15, yes 15, years ago! and she hasn't aged a day! Mariah often arouses a strong reaction from people, you either love her or hate her. Personally I love her. So this was a must buy CD. I do have all the albums but I love greatest hits albums for when I am zipping around town in my 206.
This is a 2 disc extravaganza and the only let down I can think of is that it doesn't include her most recent smashes, like 'We belong together.' It sparks nostalgia when you here the first tracks, maybe this CD is ideal for women aged around 25-35 who grew up listening to Mariah. It's not really most mens cup of tea. Though most like looking at Mariah they don't like her female empowerment songs quite as much. This CD is perfect as a getting ready, car or girly night CD a real hairbrush diva album! So if your looking for a great pressie for your mum , girlfriend or sister this is the one!
Mariah is THE collaboration queen and this album features massive names like the late Luther Vandross, the soulful Boyz 2 men, her closest rival Miss Whitney Houston, rapper Jay z and our own Westlife. Production credits include amzing producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Jermaine Dupri, P Diddy and Babyface. But Mariah is obviously a canny business woman (and VERY talented too)as most of the songs have been written by her.
