Like: I'm one of those people who enjoy a good military movie and when I first watched this years ago, I loved it. This was recently shown on TV and I knew I had to get the DVD. I like Demi's movies but I love Viggo's a lot more. It's well worth the watch, just to see if she hacks it out with the guys. I very much doubt there's a part of that woman's body that wasn't covered in bruises. My favourite part of the movie is near the end when the training mission is changed to an active mission. I'm a diehard pairer and saw something with the Master Chief and Lieutenant. They are great characters. Both strong and stubborn. It's a must watch. Dislike: I'd probably say it was a little slow on the uptake in parts, the issues between the guys and then the politics, but who likes politics? It always takes up time and bores you, but the other stuff, the military side of the movie, is worth the political jibberish.
I loved this film when it first came out, just got around to getting it on dvd. It's a definate must have for a film collector like myself. Demi Moore's charactor goes through hell and back just for the chance of equal rights. With the physical and emotional pain, this film is a cracker !!!
good dvd. its good becuase its about a women going into the navy seals whcih doesn't happen everyday lol. its a great story line and seeing what they do in the navy seals is just amazing. its a great dvd to watch and demi moore plays the role of o'niel brilliantly
A gritty and excellent film Demi shows just what a great actress she is and really leaves you thinking will Women ever be classed as equal to men in the forces, she has something to prove and she gives her all to do just that. You are left thinking Woman belong in the forces when will they get the same recognition?.
I was fascinated by this movie from the moment of Master Chief quotes "Self-Pity" of D.H. Lawrence: I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A bird will fall frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself. And this is all about it. Very few people just humbly do their job without feeling self pity. Big tough boys scared of one simple woman, afraid that she make them change their attitude or behavior. She - she have to fight for her rights only to be among them and prove that she is worthy of their trust. Obviously it is about sharp conflict of sexes, and well exposed men's faith of monopoly on courage. How much courage is needed to fight a woman? How much respect is gained when she wins? Thanks for reading
Having decided to change all my video collection to DVD's I was delighted to find this film advertised on ebay. It is one of my favourite films and was extatic to finally get it in DVD form to add to my newly started DVD collection.
G. I. Jane is an inspiring story. It shows the struggles for women even now. It has violence, it has struggle, it has fights, it has Viggo...It even has a bunch of twists towards the end. As I said this is an inspiring movie for women everywhere. Plus Viggo is damn sexy and a damn fine actor in it. I loved this movie AAAAAAAAAAA+++++++++++
