I bought the Fuji Finepix S7000 as it fell in my budget and the spec was very good.
On recieving the camera I (as all bloke do) when ahead and used it without looking at the instruction book! It's a very easy camera to use and was set up in no time. I took some pictures of my tropical fish tanks and reviewed them through the display. The results were stunning! Very clear and sharp with excellent colour saturation.
The battery useage is very poor but reading Fuji's website, there is a problem with this model. On emailing them about the problem they replied saying that they will send out a pre paid package for me to send the camera back to be upgraded at no cost to myself. This isn't in any way a new camera or model so first class service from them.
Would definitely consider buying another Fuji Finepix camera when upgrade time comes along.

FUJI S7000 DOSE IT GET ANY BETTER
Review created: 17/01/07
13 of 14 people found this review helpful.

I bought the Fuji S7000 as it fell in my budget as i had not got the £500+ to get a full DSLR .
I found the spec was very good , compared to some other makes.
This is a great camera for the money, the body of the camera paired with its lens makes for some brilliant, clear shots.

Once you have the hang of all the settings this camera has to offer, it is very easy to use.
If you can't get use to all the manual settings theres always AUTO mode where the camera does the settings it's self
I would even compare it to some DSLR cameras & say it is better.
I have found battery life to be good with re-chargeable battery's, lasting upto 8 hours shooting time!!!!!!!!!!!! not so good with non re-chargeable.
There is also a very good video recording setting as good as some video camera's .
I hope this helps someone .

This camera is a very special. It has so many features but is not complicated to operate. The quality of the pictures taken cannot be matched by many of the more up to date models. The lens is one of the better features. The availability of add on lens and other accessories makes this a very versatile camera.

  Great for what it is.

If you're looking for a small, easy to use snapper, that delivers decent images in a variety of conditions, then this may just suit you. I've been very pleased with mine. Great results are more than possible, and the zoom is just powerful enough to make it a real asset. Battery life has proved to be good too. Excellent piece of kit.

Great for photographing children who tend to move quickly - the camera can catch expressions and movements as it is fast (I'm a teacher in a special school and need it for evidence of achievement). I'm not technically up on the camera yet but it is easy to use. I love it's macro photography too.

Having owned a s3500 for a while, I decided to update to a higher resolution camera, The s7000 has more toys on board if you want to play around with settings etc but still has automatic settings for point and shoot capability, all in all its a cracking camera, crisp images, very easy to use and very attractive to look at.

Fuji FinePix S7000 Digital Camera (Used)
Review created: 09/04/08

I have been watching for some time to find a camera which is simple to use but an improvement on my previous camera without costing the earth. I don't take photography seriously, I'm just an average 'holiday snapper'.

My previous camera was a fuji and so it made sense to stick to the product that I know (I don't need to learn a whole new bunch of buttons!) The Finepix S7000 gave me an improvement on mpixels, but more importantly, a considerable improvement in zoom!

Simple to use, I recommend this camera to anyone who wants something more than a 'box style point and shoot' but doesn't want to get too serious (and at an affordable price!)

This camera I bought to replace an earlier model S5500. So I already knew how good Fuji are. This one should keep me going for a year or two. It has more functions than my previous one and I look forward to using it and seeing what it can do.

The camera itself was as described, and the photo quality is superb. I am looking forward to using the camera in a fishing situation as this will be its primary use.

  S7000 Prosumer digital camera
Review created: 14/02/08
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

I have had three of these, alwys regretting selling each one for something 'better', up to and including a Nikon D100.
The resolution colour balance, accurate focusing and ease of use makes this camera incredibly friendly whether you are a point and shoot in full auto, or careful entirely manual know what you're doing type of photographer.
This camera does pretty much anything you would ever need it to, don't be fooled by other cameras with gazillion pixels, I use this camera for work and on 3MP it prints up to A4 just as well as a film camera!
Manual speeds up to a staggering 1/10,000th of a second, macro and super macro down to 1cm, an optical and digital zoom, runs two different memory card (CF and XD) built in flash with different settings, including a red-eye reduction that really works, a nice clear viewfinder with built in dioptre correction, easy to use viewscreen also, overlay grid screen when shooting architectural.
Easy to use menus, instant viewing of what you just took, zoom in, zoom out, crop/trim/resize, easy erase, which checks you want to really do it before so no unhappy accidents...
Selectable colour balance, chrome, std, black and white, easy to change ISO, built in video in 2 speeds, simple navigation using mostly one joypad type of up/down/left/right with an OK switch in the middle. Look, if I can use it, you can use it, I could go on and on about it, but I have not got one bad thing to say about this camera; it's a useable size, has a great lens, loads of functions, reall natural colour rendition, good battery life (uses 4 AA, not rare and fancy Lithium Ion Unobtanium) so a spare set of rechargeables or Duracells will see you through an entire day's shooting and reviewing!
This is a great camera. It will help you make the most of your digital photography! If you want to see what it can do in macro, visit simonkingwildlife.com (a brilliant site anyway) go to forums, British Isles, and look up my posts from June 2007 entitled Spider and Moth, also Grass snake and Moth; by mistergirth. Look at the quality of those pics, at only 2MP!
Anyway, I cannot extol it's virtues too much, but I would recommend anyone to get one. mistergirth

  An excellent bridge to SLR
Review created: 07/02/08
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I got my first digital camera 3 years ago, also a Fuji, and was delighted with it. Unfortunately I outgrew the capabilities of my old camera and it made sense to me to get another Fuji.

For me Fuji cameras are hard wearing, take life's little (and big) knocks with aplomb and just keep going forever.

I chose the S7000 for two reasons,
1, It is a point and press but has most of the features of a full SLR camera. Handy when you are developing your skills but aren't ready to fly solo.
2, The super macro function, which gives me the opportunity to get really close to my subjects, very handy when studying art and you need to be able to see fine detail close up.

The biggest down with this camera is the size and weight. It is quite bulky and for anything other than point and press a tripod is a necessity. However don't let this put you off as I wouldn't have any other camera now, I'm so in love with my S7000, that hardly a day goes by without me getting it out and taking yet more photos of the sky.

The Free iPhone Guide

To get yourself a free iPhone all you have to do is follow the 3 easy steps:

Step 1 : Sign up for a free iPhone
Sign up at the link below to get your free iPhone. We recommend this free iPhone site because it's been TRIED and TESTED to work.

http://kudosnetwork.co.uk/?ref=174 (copy and paste into browser)

You can choose other prizes like free consoles from this site too! Make sure you use a real email address. Use your real details when you sign up so that the company knows where to send your iPhone! Remember that they have been proven legitimate, so will send you your free iPhone if you do everything legitimately!

Step 2 : Try an advertiser's offer
Basically all you need to do in this step is complete one of the offers, this is where the freebie site make their money, if you complete an offer then the freebie site will recieve commission for it. So if you complete Coral which will only cost you £5 to complete, the freebie site gets £25 from Coral. The two best offers are Lovefilm Free DVD rental (rent two DVD's, keep them for about 2 days, send them back and then cancel the trial) and Coral (bet £5 on a sport). I would reccommend you do Coral as it credits in an hour and is really simple to do, Lovefilm however can become complicated and takes up to 2 weeks to credit! You can also try one of the other offers, most are gambling offers. Don't skip this step! You must complete this step to get your free iPhone!

Step 3 : Refer some friends
This part is a lot easier than it seems, especially now with free iPhone sites getting so popular. There's lots of people online who want a free iPhone too, so start referring them! You only need to get a few signups before you'll be finished. You can ask your friends or your online buddies. I already got a free PS3, Wii, and XBOX Elite without even having to ask my friends for help - there's lots of people online who want a free iPhone like you! One of the easiest ways to get a referral is to do a favour for a friend and ask them to sign up in return. That way, you both can get a free iPhone!

Basic rules
Don't break these rules! This is the only reason that you won't get your free iPhone, so make sure you follow these rules!

- One account per household - don't use a public computer to sign up!
- Use real information - this is a proven legitimate site and they will not give out your information.
- Only complete each offer once! You cannot complete the same offer again, even for different freebies.
- Don't try to cheat the system. This site has been proven legitimate, and they will catch you if you try to cheat. If you do everything legitimately, by following this guide, you will get a free iPhone!

Thats all, just follow my guide and you will have your free iPhone in no time.

Thank you.

  Amazing Camera
Review created: 10/01/08

I have had my finpix s7000 now for 4 years and I have to say this camera still produces top results (check out the forums and see how popular/good this camera is). This camera is better than the newer versions as far as image quality goes. Its fast and great for quick snaps. I was going to replace this with the modern version but found out that my old S7000 is better! you dont need 12 megapixels to print a 5x7 photo so if you get a chance to get a s7000, snap it up!

  Fuji FinePix S7000 Digital Camera
Review created: 08/01/08
by:

I bought this as a Christmas present for a family member who is very familiar with SLR cameras and is camera club member, but who has been reluctant to make the transition to digital for personal sentimental reasons. I'm no photography expert but I've had one of these cameras myself for 2 years (bought originally for an African safari trip, for which it performed brilliantly), and I knew that its ease of use, excellent range of functions, picture quality and general handling size would be just the perfect choice, coupled with the knowledge that we could share photographic experiences with identical models. I don't feel competent enough to comment on the camera's technical capabilities although I have been extremely pleased with all aspects of my own camera, but the very happy recipient of my e-bay purchase is now busy pursuing photographic excellence and her feedback tells me the camera is absolutely excellent, easy to use and technically it does everything she could possibly want. I have found the battery life (rechargeable AA's) to be very good, contrary to comments I have read elsewhere about this model. Video capability (and speaker pick-up) is also excellent; obviously length of recording time is dependent upon the size of memory card used. Overall, as a non-professional, I would rate this camera very highly, and can find nothing to dislike about it.

A fantastic camera for those looking to get into the wonderful world of digital photography. It's lightweight and not as bulky as it's bigger brothers and even has a video facility. Only draw back for me was the digitised viewfinder, (quite pixelated) although you can use the lcd screen to frame your shot instead. With a built in macro lense, you can start experimenting your creative photography skills immediately. I've since progressed to the Canon EOS350D and thankful to the Fuji S7000 for its simple and straight forward menus, which certainly eased the transformation to the 350D.

Additional lenses are available from Fuji, and are specific to this camera. You will not be disappointed with the results from this amazing camera.

  Fuji Finepix S7000
Review created: 05/10/07

As much as I like my car and motor bike I have always been addicted to photography. Cannot pass a camera shop without looking in the window. Why a Fuji Finepix S7000, why not. It has all that I need in a camera and much more. Yes, I accept that I spend a considerable time musing over the instruction book to see where, at times, I have gone wrong. The answer is always there. With a digital, unlike my 35mm cameras, I can always wipe a photograph if it does not come up to expectations; the fault always being mine and not that of the camera. Also, with a modern printer, does not take long to print my own photographs. What don't I like about it? Not much; wish the battery life was longer, but still, always keep a fully charged set of spares. Be nice if Fuji had the ability to recharge whilst batteries were still in the camera as I can with my scanner, yet, in all honesty, that is just laziness talking. As to why I really bid for the item, sounded good and indeed was and is.

Hello there,

I bought the fuji s7000 as I already had one and new haw robust this camera is.
Its lense is one of the sharpest I have come across and I should know doing weddings all the time. its versitility is great and can be used in the studio for potraits, macro and product photography without changing lenses and then you could walk out the door straight into a wedding without much fuss.

So after saying all that you can see I was pleased to win one in great condition
from ebay for a fraction of its retail price and later bought lenses to fit.

Yours

  Fuji S7000 = Fuji Super7000 id say!!!

1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

This camera was the turning point to my photography, it was the step towards getting more in to photography. This camera packs more than a punch!

First of all yes, this camera is slighly larger than the compact cameras that you can buy on the market but you have to remember the more you can pack in to some thing the more its going to hold. The Zoom on this baby is more than enough, i used to sneak this camera in to gigs and i was able ot get some great shots of the artists from the crowd. So if you are after a good zoom, this has that!

Manual functions are great to use if you are wanting to get more in depth with the learning of how photography works and how the different settings can create different effects when you are taking pictures. You can have it on auto mode or manual, you can choose which is the great thing. So whether you are a newbi to the whole photography thing or getting in to the whole scene a bit more, you will be able to use this camera.

The resolution is just superb, you have enough pixels there to keep you satisfied forever! Its a 6MegaPixal camera with the ability to convert to 12MegaPixels (when you select the option of course!) I never actually used it on the this setting as the 6Mp setting was by far enough for me and my 10 x 15 (INCH.. not centimeter!!!) prints.

Having used a handful of fuji cameras i can say that the colours are always lovely and punchy, the greens are great and the other colours come out a dream. You have 3 options for the colour, normal mode, enhanced colour and black and white. I would usually leave it on the normal mode and the colours were just perfect, the addition option there for the colour is always good if you want to try it out. The black and white mode is superb, nice rich blacks with the contrast of the bright whites.

Macro and Super Macro mode. I love fuji for this, the super macro mode lets you focus from just 1cm!!! so for those who love abstract photography and such things you will love this. With the super macro mode you cannot use the flash so you have to make sure you are shooting with enough light. The normal macro mode is that i have used for alof of my plant and flower photographs as the quality was excellent and the colours always came out true. Both of these macro modes are just an awesome feature.

It doesnt weigh too much, it does weigh a little more than a standard compact camera, but that is to be expected. It takes 4AA batteries, i will tell you now if you use duracell once use batteries you will be dissapointed as they will not last very long... where-as if you were to use RECHARGEABLE batteries you will only need to have one set of batteries with you as they last a good few hundred shots! (but i always have another set with me, just In Case)

The fact that you can now pick up a compact flash card for just a few pounds you will be loving this camera even more as you will be able to fit LOADS of photos on to one memory card. I would suggest working with 512mb cards and have a couple rather than having one huge card. (just in case you drop it and break it, accidently delete photos or something like that *yes i have deleted a whole memory card by accident once, i was not happy*) :)

All round excellent camera, great for someone who doesnt want to fork out for a digital SLR and wants to see if photography is really what they want to do.

95/100 for this camera!!!
