This is the second studio album, which featured there young & up & coming german guitar player Michael Schenker. Its a very raw & brash album that showcases exactly were ufo were headed musically. Considering that Schenker was still a young pup, he was grinding out some great guitar riffs! This album includes songs that were destined to become regulars in there live set such as 'mother mary' 'out in the street' & 'this kids'.For me its great to hear these songs in there purest state,as they were recorded, instead of the way i normally hear them-live. So, for me its a must buy, just to complete my Schenker era ufo collection! Great!! -m-
I had this record way back in the seventies on vinyl and wanted to get a new CD copy. It still sounds great, with strong songs, marvellous musicianship and vocals. Michael Schenker was only 19 when he made this album, which makes the soaring guitar work even more remarkable. LONG LIVE U.F.O.!
After Lights Out, this has to be UFO's next best studio album from their classic 1970's period and probably number 2 of their entire history.
It contains at least 5 classic tracks that are still performed as part of the current lineup's live set including; the often used opener Mother Mary and the even more often used encore closer Shoot Shoot - but here you can hear every note of Michael Schenker as he originally intended and not distorted as in so many of the "Live" recordings.
