this is not one of those albums you buy because you like one song on it - and discover the rest aren't very good. all of the songs are good. there are some fantastic feel good songs on it and songs you cant help but sing along to! i bought this cd to replace the one that one of my children ruined, normally i wouldnt bother but this one i love. amy studt is a fantastic singer, her songs, her style and her image are like no other - guess thats why shes a misfit!
there are no false smiles about it, i think amy studt is a terrific singing and its a shame she stopped. its not as good as some but its still great. thats why i was so happy to find it, people your missing out
Debut album from a VERY underrated young lady. She could have been Avril Lavigne before the real one came along. Her new album has just been released and is well worth looking out for!
The british equivalent of Avril Lavigne, not to everybodies taste due to a diversity from the classic "pop" this album is full of great tunes with even better lyrics from the heart of the typical teen, sung and wrote with a superb amount depth, heartbreak and passion, such a shame she has been away for so long. With her hits you'll remember (More likely "Misfit" and "Under the thumb"), "Nobody" and "Ladder in my tights" are absaloutely stunning, again beautifully written and executed by her voice. A MUST HAVE FOR EVERY CD COLLECTION... 5/5
I like the contrast in styles on the disk, from the commercial to the more heartfelt lyrics, a great addition to my eclectic music collection. If all you have heard are the tracks that made the charts then try it, you will be surprised by some of her more sedate offerings.
Amy Studt is the greatest female vocalist the UK has ever produced and this album comes with the highest praise, in fct this album is an investment for the future Amy Studt is also beautiful just check out the inside cover top babe
This album has songs to satisfy any taste and i love all the songs, from start to finish.
From this album Amy has released 3 songs not two like everyone else seems to be saying. Just a little girl, Misfit and Under the thumb
Misfit is probably my favourite as it does describe real school life.
Amy had falling sales and to deal with this her label forced a release of 'All I Wanna Do', which went completly against hr style, in the video you see shes not loving it, its a big shame that her record label did this, with it only reaching 21 in the charts in 2004.
Marketing is the sole reason why she didnt make it big in the UK, as she has a massive ability in music, with an amazing voice and brilliant piano skills, whilst learning guitar and oboe.
Rumours are out of her releasing again soon from a different record label, due to being dropped by Polydor.
She is only 20 and released amazing stuff already, just wait and see what happens next
THIS ALBUM DELIVERS SOME GOOD SONGS I HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING FROM THIS LADY SINCE THE HIT SINGLE "MISFIT" WHICH APPEARS ON THIS CD, LETS HOPE THIS WASN'T HER LAST
This is one of those many albums that manages to fade into the non-existent void of forgotten albums.
It is the one and only album released by Amy Studt, it includes her two hits "Just A Little Girl", and "Misfit". Which although these two songs are actually really good, the rest of the album is lacking the time and effort put in to these songs.
The album is produced by Simon Fuller who has produced so many hit bands and artists.
The sound of the album is reminiscent of Avril Lavigne, with her teen angst driven songs, and seems about the same age. I suppose you might classify it as teen punk rock, but there are also some sentimental tracks on this album.
I would say this album is almost worth buying just for the two hits, but it's debateable.
An Average to Good album - Which may become a collectors item as there are no further releases.
